  1. Man I wish Revell would crank this puppy up to 48th, I need to do a AAAC bird and have to contend with the old Italeri one!
  2. Sorry guys I'm a bit of a retard, what does PM mean?.....
  3. JC, I'll go half with you, I'm into 48th.
  4. It's actually kind of a hybrid the way it's molded. It does contain certain Charlie model features, but to make it a true Charlie model you need to get the Cobra Co. conversion to do a propper "C".As far as I know C's were built as interim gunships untill the Cobra's arrived on scene so I don't think it would be propper to build it as a medivac ship. Good luck!.
  5. Gotta agree with everything that's been said regarding '47 as a rescue bird, but one thing that springs to mind for me though is that it's a hell of a huge target for the bad guys when it's operating at the front line or well behind the enemy's. Lets not forget how many the nightstalkers' lost or had damaged in Operation Anaconda. It's just a huge, un-missable, tempting target. Despite having all the bells and whistles to ingress/egress "stealthily" (if you can call a bird like the Chinook stealthy), it still carries a HUGE audible footprint where-ever it goes. Remember the Marines rescued S
  6. Can anyone post a pic showing the gun muzzles on the real a/c?, trumpeter has depicted them with what looks like conical pointed fairings so I was curious what the real things looked like.TIA.
  7. Can you tell us what the quality of the conversion is like, are the castings up to the standards of say, Cobra Co?.
  8. Careful what you wish for!!, over at HeliKit news website one of the contributors says he's friend works at the Italeri factory where they are to release ALL of the 72nd scale Chinooks to 48th, which means a nightstalker bird is on the way!!!!!.Thank the modelling Gods!!!!!.
  9. CobraHistorian, Defence Models and Graphics here in Oz, has modified the Italeri Tiger kit with resin mods to depict an Aussie Tiger. The mods may be somewhat crude because he sells his made up models to corporations (who really can't appreciate the finer details) but I've spoken to him and he insists that with a little elbow grease his mods can be made to look quite acceptable.I guess it all depends on what your personel standards are. I haven't come across a good set of walkaround pics yet of our Tigers, but once I have I'd like to give it a go as Idon't think many of the mods are too diffi
  10. Thanks for your eforts guys, I guess she'll have to go on the backburner till someone puts out the definitive volume on this bird!
  11. Thanks Trigger 74, I can't bare the idea of having 2 of these kits lying in my stash unbuilt fo lack of reference, maybe one day someone will do a book on the Commanche and we'll have something to work from.
  12. Jon, Thanks for the offer buddy, I guess it'll remain on the back burner till the ideal reference comes about
  13. Can anyone who's near FT Rucker do a walkaround of said bird in the museum?, I have 2 of the 48th scale kits and would love the usual cockpit/weapons bay/rotorhead detail shots in order to do my kits.I'd like to depict a "what if" bird that had entered service. Thanks y'all. :D
