  1. Really really great work. As far as the helmet mike goes, you can actually have it installed on either side. I have two Gentex helmets that I ordered to keep me safe when I fly. When I placed the order I was asked which side I would like the mike on. So both your helmets are accurate. Have a great day! Dave http://www.gibson-barnes.com/index.php?id=18&cat_id=29
  2. So what is this Navy aircrewman in Haiti wearing and why is it black and not green like their normal SV-2 are?
  3. Any front and back pics out there? Part # or manufacturer? I don't know what they look like so I don't know how to paint or detail it.
  4. Times like these, you have to just say a prayer for the crew and their families. What you don't do is play Monday morning quarterback about anyones flying especially when the details are not in. This thread is for us to pay our respect for people doing a very important and dangerous job, leave it at that. I'm with SuperCobra on that. My Chicago sectional has La Crosse field elevation at 654' and the MEF in that quadrangle is 2200'. Call me crazy but I don't think anyone would pull nothing but collective to get to 1546' AGL before moving out. Now I don't have a EC-135 height/velocity di
  5. anybody know where a guy can buy a set of these?
  6. Well, one of them didn't work, but I can take more on Friday.

  8. Lemme see if this worked. IMG]http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll108/Gabriel72006/HH-3Pelican.jpg[/img]
  9. I have 3 images of Coast Guard HH-3 Pelicans my brother took. I've seen both of these as recent as yesterday when I flew into the Janesville FBO for fuel. They are to big to upload but they are really nice. they are 604K, 409K and 384K. I don't know how to resize jpgs. I can e-mail them or maybe someone can tell me how to post images that are large files. Anyway, the two Pelicans were there yesterday and I'm gonna fly back there on Friday to Janesville and take more picks if you want. Dave davidwaynesmith2@gmail.com
  10. Does anyone know if RF-4C's were new builds on the McDonnell Douglas line or were these other Phantoms reworked into RF-4's?
  11. This is why I absolutely love coming to this forum everyday. I just never know when I'm gonna read this kind of real helicopter pilot stuff. It is just a pleasure to read the opinions from you guys and to get your insight into how things really are and some of the considerations most of us will never be privy to. I love it.
  12. Just curious b/c I found this safety video that spoke about "mast bumping" and that it happened to low-time pilots. So that got me wondering how often you all fly. I'm working on my Army helicopters. A 1/35 OH-58D and a 1/35 UH-1D.
  13. Thanks all of you for the info, I am ordering a couple of them then. Cause who doesn't love the huey?
  14. Are the Panda and Dragon 1/35 hueys the same kit b/c that is what I heard?
  15. Other than these. I have been all over the internet and these three are the only ones I have found. Please e-mail me anything you may have so I can begin work on a diorama idea of F-4 Phantom production. davidwaynesmith2@gmail.com
  16. Hi everyone, I'm still not finding anything else on this subject with the exception of the one image on the Boeing website. Some help in the form of any F-4 Phantom production images would be greatly appreciated. Dave
  17. Thanks a lot! Just e-mail them to me at: davidwaynesmith2@gmail.com p.s. just put F-4 phantom production in the subject line so I find your email quicker
  18. What did the F-4 assembly line look like in St.Louis back in the day? I really need some reference pics for a diorama idea.
  19. Aaaarrrggg! I can't find them anywhere and I need two of them. Waaaaaaa! Seriously though, could someone please point me in the right direction?
  20. I worked on what I have displayed for about six months. I have 6 Fujimi CH-46s that are being sanded and preped for painting. They will be my "main course" for this diorama. The camo I picked because it was the current 3 color scheme that the USMC used while I was in from 88-93. I remember how strange we all looked at helos coming back to there units with this "new" two tone gray scheme they wear now. Man, how time flies.
  21. Masking tape and red paint for the bags, red nylon string for the tie-downs.
