Yesssss, can't wait to get those A-6 decals. Will they be available only from your website or
will Hannants be another source?

This is almost to good to be Kinetic
Or has Kinetic improved that much?
Are cockpit, wheel bays and wingfold kit parts? Hard to believe since she's an
absolute beauty!!

Aww comon, we're much more than just one smart@$$....give credit where credit is due..
I admit, I'm WAAAAY guilty of going in and piling on. I don't know if that's a bad thing for me personally or if it's a good thing. I will say that it has helped me re-think my positions on certain things. And I don't mean necessarily change my believes, I think I am what I am..but rather how to converse my point of view and how the "other side" thinks. In some small doses I think that's healthy.
BUT annnnyway...no idea what's up with them. I suspect someone forgot to pay the light bill.
Maybe I was a bit harsh with my original comment: I think it's a shame that Z5 has deteriorated into
just a forum dealing with politics. It used to be one of my favourite places to go for modelling related questions.
In the beginning there were loads of experts there - and I mean real experts - and no question was left
unanswered with expertice. But sorry, in the end it wasn't a modelling forum anymore.

Hats off, that's a stunning build and a beautiful set up !!!

Didn't go there in months since it had nothing to do with a modelling forum anymore,
just one smartass talking politics, nothing modelling related anymore. So it was about
time it got shut down.

Remarkable how you turned such an ancient kit into such a beauty - hats off!!

I'd love to see a large scale GR.4 if it's better around the intake and cockpit area than the Revell kit - which is not a bad kit at all.
I think it would sell quite well not only in the UK.

I love threads like this one, not because they have any importance, - even though I feel sorry for the OP and the
seriously ment question he asked - but because I vividly remember and still love the comment of a U.S. TV commentator during a football game:
"What a plethora of verbal diarrhea"!! Why don't the two of you just meet, go outside and fight it out and spare the rest of serious
posters your personal BS?

SR-71 is not my cup of tea, but I share your sentiments regarding Hypersonic products. I've bought and used quite a
few sets from him and they outclass a lot of other AM manufacturer's stuff. So I guess his SR-71will be the icing on
the cake.

If so, why several seasoned HAS Tomcat builders (some pros among them) have so much problem with the AMK kit?
Pardon my ignorance, but who decides who's a MATURE and / or a PRO builder? You? Darren has built more
Tomcats of all brands than you've probably ever seen, so there's absolutely no reason to doubt his word - compared
to your mediocre statement. Does the word "ellbow grease" ring a bell?

Excellent build, fantastic paintjob - love the subtle but realistic weathering - compliment!!
Lothar

The only critique I have is that it is not mine! Everything on this model looks
just perfect - paint job, finish, weathering etc. - not to forget the excellent photography!
That's a stunning build.

Yes, you like "challenging kits with imperfections" but when people talk about... a challenging kit with imperfection in particular, your only contributions to the topic are personal attacks and asking to shut down the topic, that is not contradictory at all.
I remember this post of yours, so perfect:
Have another look at my post above and then show us all what you're doing other than contriburing your valuable opinion about what you see from others and riding their horses.

Just one question:
you are apparently not interested by the subject of the discussion.
The fact is the subject of this discussion, is the subject of the topic.
Why staying in a topic about a subject you don't care and trying to shut down a discussion you don't contribute to?
And it's not as if it's the first time we witness this pretty strange behaviour, people coming in this specific topic only to make personnal attacks and denying obvious facts and findings by attacking the person who provide them.
BTW, I build models and I like challencing kits with imperfections.
it's just people like you repeating the same BS over and over that drive me off to post here any more. And as I said before this thread has become
so why participate. Your interpretation of "pretty strange behaviour" is indeed strange, give it a thought.

Yes, the final result and build is on the builder, but when a manufacturer provides a locator to precisely assemble 2 parts and this locator does not help at all and maybe makes things worse, what we're talking here, the fact that the fit isn't good and both parts don't fit and the assembly leave a huge seam, is on the manufacturer.
Why don't you invest some of your valuable time, buy the kit, try to find out what ellbowgrease is and build it - then post it here rather than consistently whining about this? Otherwise, for me, all your comments are just
What @zerosystem said " All I can tell you, maybe we just all found a way to deal with it" - that's what modelling is about.
-
Stunning and most impressive work you've done, hats off !!!
Lothar

Quite impressive build and finish - compliments!!! Are the wingfolds an
option in the kit or are they scratchbuilt? If so, another hats off!!
Lothar

What a collection, that Intruder just blew me away - stunning

It's difficult to pick a favourite from only excellent builds, but in the end
I'd pick the Viking and the Spad - congratulations on such a pile of beauties.

And your very behaviour is maybe one of the reasons nobody made a WIP here yet?
With your toxic behaviour the WIP build here will be contaminated with hate and BS comment. You already went toxic about fellow modellers from outside, and new with that.
You will continue your AMK bashing whatever the builder shows you, you'll always find an excuse to bring back your hate in the top of the discussion
I am building one and I wanted to make a WIP build here. But I can already see how this is going to end because of you and your AMK bashers likes
Since I actually enjoy building models, with or without challenges (and I don't always follow instructions, even on Tamiya kit) but I despise trolls and manufacturer bashing, I don't see the point to document a build here and have to deal with you haters.
So as far as I am concerned your behaviour in this topic is a disservice to the ARC community.
You make normal modellers turn someplace else for their WIP and your make ARC look like a nasty and toxic place to visit.
You politely hit the nail on the head, there are a few idiotic stuffed shirts here who will do their best to keep
this thread running forever - sooner or later even the folding sequence of the AMK boxes will be discussed
and found unsuitable for the model builder.

On the other side of the pond they solved the “problem” of discussion about this kit very fast. Simply banned discussion by closing down the forum with the pretext that the kit is already released. In the cradle of democracy discussion or independent opinions are not something that are welcome.
Well actually the AMK F-14 kit is not released, only handful of the kits have been sent out to reviewers.
Best regards
Gabor
If a thread doesn't make any sense anymore - like this one - the subject has beaten to death, "know and see it" alls repeat them over and over again - like on this one, if personal insults
creep in - like on this one - then I'm all for closing a thread down. This should have been done with this one long time ago - what a waste of time!!!!

Have a look at the WIP linked above Lothar,
The biggest issue was the lack of intake trunking.
It's far from a shake and bake kit - but t's not the same price either 🙂
With a tube of putty, it ends up in a decent Rafale Marine.
The revell boxing is great because you get a lot of modern stuff like the special weapon pylons, the targetting pod and the Syhart decals
Here's an extract of my WIP quite representative to answer your question:
Thank you very much. I missed this WIP, but it's bookmarked and will be the guideline for my build. It's a stunning diorama you've
built

Ordered some Mig-29 stuff from Chris, the package arrived within a week in Germany (faster than SB)
and what can I say, I'm more than happy with his products - top notch. I rate his Mig-29 burner
cans even better than the Aires ones. So anytime again.
