@RedDog: How do the Revell kits build? Any major fit problems you recall? I have a few of their kits and the M version is on top of my to do list. Thanks. Lothar

Very, very impressive. I don't know too much about Tomcats but this model looks like a showstopper to me - congratulations on a superb build Lothar

HB 1/48 Su-27 (early) cockpit color question

Thanks a bunch for your help. I'm glad to know which paint to look for. Lothar -
I've got this kit just the other day and had a look at the instructions. They want you indeed to paint the cockpit BLACK. Black? I realize it's an "early" Version, but black for the cockpit just seems wrong to me. Wouldn't bluegrey make more sense? Any comment appreciated. Lothar

What are the weak points with the Academy offerings? Lothar

That's correct, unfortunately I've noticed this only after the model was finished,. The HB nose is correct here. BTW: The AOA decals for my A-6A were some of the best I've ever used. Lothar

It's the Hobby Boss one hands down. The top one is the Kinetic kit and a LOT - and i mean a LOT - of patience, filler and corrections is needed, the lower one is the HB kit which, compared to the Kinetic kit, is a pleasure to build and requires only a bit of rework. HTH Lothar
