How exactly is it a 'fail'? If you look closely, they provide both options, so it is a win-win. Modelers that don't like the multi-piece option don't have to use it, they can use the one piece option. Modelers that think the multi-piece option is great will be able to use it. Either way, everyone will be able to use whichever parts they choose to.

I honestly cannot grasp just how negative several of you seem to be over this kit. First and foremost, it is a plastic model airplane. Your life or well being doesn't depend on it. You're still going to get up in the morning and go about your normal daily routine. No one's lives are going to be affected in any way, shape or form.

AMK has done everything they can to address everyone's concerns and most still aren't happy! Seriously, get a life! The pathetic and childish whining over this kit is unbelievable. Grown as$ men bitching and whining like little kids in a toy store that can't have what they want. It's embarrassing.

Every Flanker cockpit I have ever seen is blue-grey - on my 1/72 scale models I use Humbrol Helblau - with a dash of grey.

Sexy knees and the correct cockpit color - it can't get any better

I recently purchased the same kit. I saw that in the instructions and laughed. The correct color to the Su-27 cockpits is "usually" a light to medium blue grey color. If you Google Su-27 cockpit you will get some photos with examples. AKAN makes a paint for Suhkoi cockpits but it seems too dark to me. MRP (AKA Mr Paint) also makes version which looks much closer to the color seen in most photos. I used it on the Su-33 I am building now.

Now, if you try to use Eduards color photoetch, they have the color all wrong, being more of a very light blue. Dream models make color photoetch for the Su-33 and the Academy Su-27 that have a much better color. Unfortunately, they don't make a set for the Hobby Boss kit.

Thanks a bunch for your help. I'm glad to know which paint to look for.

The Kinetic nose always bothered me. It's like an EA-6A nose or something. Seemingly it's pointy and small for the rest of the nose and canopy. Plus it has those unknown panel lines in the middle of it, making it look like it's multiple parts rather thanone big radome like it should. That may make it stand out more. Lothars build is excellent, but you can see the lines I'm talking about on the Kinetic nose.

That's correct, unfortunately I've noticed this only after the model was finished,. The HB nose is correct here.

BTW: The AOA decals for my A-6A were some of the best I've ever used.

  5. It's the Hobby Boss one hands down. The top one is the Kinetic kit and a LOT - and i mean a LOT - of patience, filler and corrections is needed, the lower one is the HB kit which, compared to

the Kinetic kit, is a pleasure to build and requires only a bit of rework.
