  1. Thank you Triarius for the excellent answer!
  2. as far as i know, applying a gloss coat darkens the part, while applying a flat coat lightnes it. Lets say I have 2 parts painted the same colour, but one has an extra gloss coat applied. I then spray the same amount of flat on both parts. Will the part with the gloss coat appear more glossy? thanks!
  3. I got the aires 1/32 f-15c pit but the main IP doesnt seem to be able to fit into the tub. Ive read that some tubs have shrinkage issues, not sure if mine is suffering from shrinkage. The PE for the main IP fits fine so i suspect the issue is with the tub. Please advise.
  4. Thanks for the suggestions! I guess the most important thing is not to saw at the line directly as its too risky. Using sandpaper is a safer bet
  5. Hello I have a resin ejection seat with a huge casting block at its base. I could proceed to try to saw it off, but I find it difficult to perform a uniform cut for such a large block. I thought about grinding the resin block on sandpaper to remove it instead. How do you guys handle such issues? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  6. hello everyone, thinking of building a 1/32 f-15j, but am not sure whether to use the aires early or late version of the f-15c cockpit. The jet's serial is 92-8906, so I suppose it was procured in 1989. I got a feeling its a MSIP jet so the late version would be correct. Can anyone confirm this? Thank you! :D
  7. What did they do wrong the intakes? Im considering getting this kit actually
  8. hi all, looking for the abovementioned sheet. If you have one to spare, please pm me. Thanks for viewing.
  9. Hello Im building the trumpeter mig-29m and regarding the TE flaps, should the rear edge be flat, or should they have a V-cross section when viewed from the side? Trumpeter molded the edge as a V cross-section. Really need help here. Thanks!
  10. Hello guys, Im building the trumpeter 1/144 tu-160 and it seems that the 5 pieces that make up the main landing gear bays simply do not fit together. Am I doing something wrong or is it a kit issue? Please help Thank you. Weiheng
  11. hi guys, I got the wolfpack 1/32 airbrake bay set for the tamiya f-14 and i encountered this problem. At the area where the arrow points to, the resin is so thin that it resembles flash. Is there an easy way to fix this? Unfortunately the quality of this set isn't on par with the airframe conversion and IFR probe set. Thanks!
  12. Hey, yup i built that f-16 back in 2005. Its pretty cheap here in SG so I really couldn't resist. I'll be building a 1/32 f-14d soon. Gotta pray hard during that build haha.
  13. Hello Infideon, Im from sg too. Thats a really nice looking viper and crew figures. How did u paint the checker pattern on the back of the guy in orange?
  14. I just tried some high quality oils and it seems that they give a dirtier appearance as compared to using enamels, probably because the paint seems to separate out slightly. I found that enamels tend to give sharper and more consistent lines. Since Im mainly washing the landing gear and its bays I prefer using oils. Great learning experience. Thanks guys!
  15. I just tried some artist oils by daler rowney. I used burnt umber as I heard black has a tendency to have its pigments separate out. To my disappointment the brown pigments kept separating out. Could this be a case of lower quality paint? I read in a separate topic that it pays to not compromise on oil paint quality. This tube only cost about 5 dollars. Should I try other brands? Thanks!
