  2. i really am greatfull for all of your tips and tooling suggestions. my next trip to the hobby shop will be for supplies instead of a kit! i feel much better about life now. ;) THANKS GUYS!!!, Mav
  3. hi all, i've got a mig started, no extra goodies b/c its for the monogram classics group build. i decided to do the korean version using the model masters aluminum paint. (no access that i know of to alcad)...anyway, i thought that my putty and gaps were ok, but after the first coat of paint, boy was i wrong! so, i sanded and added more putty, paint.. but it still looks horrible!!! i'm still new at filling gaps and sanding seams. any advice on how to correct this would be greatful. i've read in the tips section, but reading and doing are two different things. i'm using sandpaper, do i need to
  4. I would like this to be my first Group Build.... all new models still in bags, built out of box- -Monogram 1/48 MiG-15 -Revell Re-issue of the Monogram F-101 Voodoo ( i think i read someone else is doing the same reissue, i'm assuming its allowed) -If i can, gonna throw in a 1/48 Monogram F-8 if it arrives in time from dann. wish me luck, i'm gonna need it!!!!!! :)
  5. hi, i just got that exact same kit in the mail 2 days ago! i'm excited about building mine as well. i haven't started it yet b/c of finding decent references for the cockpit color....was thinking of going with something very similar to yours... this kit can't take that long...just a few parts. now i need a f-86 to go beside it! have fun w/building two of them...
  6. great looking f-16. i'm going to start on mine as soon as my parts come in! i use model master paints too, simply b/c thats all i have access to. can you tell me your colors/grays you used for the main "body?" again, great job, i hope mine looks half that nice!
  7. well, any kit really, Andre posted a link that was exatly what i needed...thanks tho.
  8. Andre, that's exacly what i needed, I've bookmarked that site for future needs, thanks alot!!!!! ;)
  9. Hi, does anybody have a pdf of any 1/48 Has. F-104 instructions. I mainly need the cockpit, but if you've got it all, I'd love to see it. You can pm me or email me.... Thanks.. Maverick
  10. WOW! that is awsome! the tub looks great! I want to use yours as an example of what to do with my resin cockpit!!!!!!!
  11. thanks guys i was thinking if it didn't fit, i could just use the attaching panels from the Has kit. as far as the exhaust rings, i may have to switch them out. where can i get exaust rings that fit an A model? or i could just turn it into a B model. i'll put a post over in the FS/FT section. again thanks for all your replies!
  12. hi all, i have just purchased a 1/48 hasegawa f-14b, aries cockpit and vf-103 decals off of ebay for a CHOICE price of about $56 for all of it together! i'm so stoked about it i'm afraid to touch it! its like my "holy grail" of models. the aries is my first aftermarket cockpit and its a bit intimidating. anyway i have a poor old italeri kit that could use a cockpit upgrade b/c italeri is lacking in detail for all its stuff. i wanted to know if i could use the one from the hasegawa kit and shove it in the italeri shell. any body ever done this?? i'm also looking for a few missles for the kit
  13. i would like to order one. is the site squadron.com? i didn't find it there.. ;)
  14. Would like to say thanks to Doug Smith for the F-14 fuel tanks. And to John Bibay for the decals. I really appreciate both of you guys helping a newbie out. I hope to do business or return favors in the future. Thanks again, Maverick
  15. wow, makes me not even want to finish mine....haha great job!!
  16. wow, outstanding job. i've got 2 of them going on now as well. one of the most frustrating parts is where the top, bottom and intakes meet on the front fuselage. your exhaust cans look awesome. again great job. i will be using this pics as reference and quality to shoot for. what were the upgrades/additions you made?
  17. I advertised my need for lo-viz decals and Chuck was the only one that responded. Not only did he help me out, but he sent me his decal set at no charge. I wanted to pay him, but he insisted. Just wanted to say this is a good guy to deal with. Chuck if you read this, never hesitate to let me know if I can ever return the favor!!! -Brandon "Maverick"
