  1. sweet, workin on this kit now as well. would love to see some pics
  2. That is GREAT NEWS! Glad you're gonna be around!
  3. man, that looks great! i'd love to be able to make my stuff look this good!
  4. after reading and seeing these pics, I don't think my "stash" can be considered a "stash." lol I have about 25 kits, only duplicates are 3 tomcats. Since I have found ARC, My stash has grown, I never considered keeping unbuilt kits. I would get one, build it, and then get another one, and so on. I'm happy with my kits, and am trying to add just a few more. I'm really picky about what I like, mainly modern jets. I have one prop that i think is pretty cool. I'm also trying to up my quality, get a few more hasegawas and tamiyas in the mix, instead of revell-ograms. heading to the Buy/Sell secti
  5. very nice! i like the display as well!
  6. soooo....i got bummed out about this kit. but my love for the tomcat would not let me give up! so i decided to strip the old decals off, and repaint the top closer to what i've found in pictures, as well as order a new set of VF-32 decals for a 1997 bird. here is where I am so far. Weathering and touch up painting will be done tonight. Tried to file down some of the seams more, but was worried about breaking off parts. Debating on load, i may just leave put 2 sidwinders on, and one sparrow in the aft position...
  7. I added that I wanted to see a new 48 scale kitty too. I also asked for them to combine the needed parts to make an A, B or D model. Shouldn't be too hard to do.
  8. wow, yours is very nice, thats what i was trying to go for. i obviously painted mine wrong, as the decals look great with your scheme. expectations?? none, i've only built 2 1/48 tomcats and they're revells. i think i got if off ebay for around $12ish. like you, i used 2 hasegawa seats that someone gave me. i just got a bad sheet of decals i guess. most of what i've used so far tore once they got wet. i'll guess i'll suck it up and repaint it to try to match yours. can you share what colors you used? looks like medium grey on top of the canopy...
  9. I'm working on getting all of my in progress kits finished and put on the shelf so i can move on to other kits i've recently purchased. so i picked up the tomcat and figured it was close to being finished....oh how wrong i was. this kit, has stolen my joy. what a headache this thing is. the incorrect proportions are obvious, so i'm not even goin down that road. but the kit quality is crap. right down to the decals. this is where the questions come up. the decals don't look right. at all. maybe i've painted the jet the wrong colors, and if thats the problem, i'll just start over with a back-up
  10. Ken, i'm blown away by your work. I'm working on a tamiya f-15, that i'm doing a take off build with the wheels retracting just like what you've done. Can you share some input as to how you did your landing gear? Like specifically how your attached it into the gear wells? also any more pics of that one would be wonderful!!

  12. hey micro, welcome to ARC, and welcome back to building. First think i think you should do, is go to General Discussion, and click on one of the top links that says How to Build a Model Airplane. Theres a link to a great PDF you can download. It contains a great list of tools you can see, and an idea of where to get them. Check it out.... i've built up all my tools over time. starting out with what kit i was wanting to build, get the stuff for that one. then stuff for the next one, and so on. but there are some great ideas in that pdf.
  13. I like it! Think about putting the regular painted tanks on, TPS i guess. Would look very cool, especially if you weathered it a bit...! Thought of doing this with my Revell Hornet kit, since its the C model. Will be watching this... Very creative idea, good luck!
  14. lookin for some Foxbat stuff myself, thanks for the tip
