  1. *Steve Ritchie used gun pod in its F-4D or not¿ and ECM witch one¿

Ritchie scored no kills with a gun. I believe the SUU-23 gun pod was rarely used by the USAF once the F-4E entered service. ECM pods would have been either ALQ-101 (short & long versions) or ALQ-87.

Both pods were used, pictures show them with a short ALQ-101 mounted on one inboard wing pylon and an ALQ-87 under the other inboard pylon.

  2. -GBU-32. Really? I've never seen an active AF fighter with a GBU-32. The 31 and 38 variant yes, but a 32? Maybe it is a Raptor thing? And the other 1/72 Raptor, Revell's fine example, also gives you a couple of -32s; coincidence, or should I start reading more about the Raptor and its weapons?

From the official Air Force website

Armament: One M61A2 20-millimeter cannon with 480 rounds, internal side weapon bays carriage of two AIM-9 infrared (heat seeking) air-to-air missiles and internal main weapon bays carriage of six AIM-120 radar-guided air-to-air missiles (air-to-air loadout) or two 1,000-pound GBU-32 JDAMs and two AIM-120 radar-guided air-to-air missiles (air-to-ground loadout)

  3. Curt,

Thank you, I already tried both options (EF-10 and F3D). The only thing I could find online were the instrument panel diagrams: no pictures. From external pictures, the parts of the cockpit I could see visible appear to be gray. I wonder if the Ginter book has any pictures?

  4. Very cool.

As I don't know that much of large atomic weapons, what aircraft were capable of loading these? I guess B-36s and B-52s?

Also are there any plans to make the bombrack for these? I guess they didn't just hang on the ceiling of the bombbay?

    Looking great!

    :monkeydance:

Off the top of my head, the Mk-6 was carried by the B-36 and B-47, while the B-41 was used by the B-47 and B-52. The Mk-7 was a tactical weapon that was carried by the F-84, F-100, F-101, A-1, and A-4.

  5. you are in luck.. I just took these at Oshkosh this year. A restored DHC-7 in U.S. Army colours.... what kit are you building??

    Sean,

Thanks, those are very helpful pictures; I've got a 1/72 Hobbycraft kit in the stash I'm thinking of breaking out.

Even though produced in Canada the FS specs still applied. The Canadian-produced bits we had on our P-3s were indistinguishable from the American parts other than the "Produced in Canada" stickers. :soapbox:

    Don,

    Thank you for the information.
