  1. My 2 bits on AM Mk I going under. Choice of subject matter didn't help. How many people really wanted a Yak 1 on skis, or a single seat Stromovik? The Avenger was good, but they got bogged down on detail on the B-25 series (scale Life magazine?). The car line went off topic IMO, they should have used the resources for main stream aircraft. A P-40B/C would have been a home run, same with a complete line of F4F Wildcats.
  2. Cincy Show is the 11th next month,

  7. Avoid Dell at all costs. My last desktop and 1st laptop were both Dells and both had major problems within the 1st year or so.....and my desktop is a high end XPS9100.... I've been using a HP for my laptop past couple years and like it......
  8. Given a choice (which I did make when I moved from M-1 carbine collecting to wanting something that was easier to find ammo for) I'd say AR all day long. You can get any flavor you want either off the rack or custom build your own like I've started doing the past year. That doesn't count the 2 I sold during the panic early this year, for a tidy profit Main reason I went AR was the 223 round round, its a common US made round you don't have to worry about import sanctions being imposed on. Most AK ammo here in the US is imported, given politics it could be banned from importation by decree
  9. Good show, didn't buy anything myself but did thin the herd some vending, which is good. Maybe next year I can bring a finished model if I make it
  10. I'm thinking of it now, will know next week for sure
  11. If it's been a few years then the layout changed since then. The school remodeled the lunch room 2-3 years ago and added the area we used as registration and lobby area....help congestions a lot :)/> Used to be the front area by the doors was what we used there for that....makes a load of difference
  12. Early returns we think contestant count was the same as last year, we had 74 numbered sheets out but the guys there said he though he might have screwed that up. Models on the table I've heard 2 numbers, 257 or 297....later would be about the same as last year but lower than past shows. Not sure on general admissions, guy running that forget to start numbering those wrist bands we use and also used both ends.....new guy there this year. If the numbers are down I blame the weather, it was just TOO nice out yesterday and I know I didn't see some regulars there (honeydo lists suck)....hell....I

  14. That's my plan when I finally finish my Airfix E-1 Hal, Tamiya landing gear and replacing the props. I've got one in progress but mothballed it awhile back when I lost my modeling mojo (did a stint as a mod on a shooting forum....remind me never do that again during a anti-gun grab campaign)
  15. My 2 bits, for 1/32nd scale the CyberModeler/Dragom Emil's are the only way to go, most accurate Emil's that scale out. The only issue I have is the trim tabs on the stabilizers....those are in the wrong place. Eduard kit that scale sucks. 1/48th scale I'm personally NOT impressed with the Eduard Emil series. It still has enough of the same problems with accuracy as the 1/32nd scale variant but their not as pronounced as the 1/32nd scale outside of the slats (which are still too big) and several panels still not scribed right in the right spots. I have 2 of their E-1's (one was a gift) but
  16. Remember, the NSA monitors the internet.....you might get 1/72nd scale agents raiding your place this week :)

The IPMS/USA website has the correct date and info
  18. RLM 02/71/65, that's from the same as I have IIRR :)
  19. I've got pictures of D's painted like that but their on my main computer which is in the shop (%$# Dell, power switch goes out 3 months after the warranty is up )....I'm stuck with just my laptop till then. I'll check my hobby room machine tomorrow when I fire it up but I might not have copied those over when I found them online
  20. Bf 109D's came from the factory with a "low" demarcation line...odds are if it has the "high" line it was repainted 02/71....they took the time to move the demarcation line up the fuselage like that they would have followed the directive for repainting all the way
