  1. Sure will have a look. I loved working on old cars and these new ones need a computer degree to fix them.
  2. Nice work on installingthat after the build. How did you do that? I will have to remember this when I get round to mine.
  3. I don't buy much anymore on eBay but when I do I have few favourite sellers with reasonable shipping, I also set my searches with "price with shipping lowest". Also that duty and customs add on is a scam. If that is there in the listing I walk away. 9 times out of 10 it comes to my door without any customs. Duty should be zero.
  4. Thanks for the info Dave. Did not know he had left Squadron. Those sets were the cat's meow and I am thankful I have most of them when the came out.
  5. Good point Joe. I had that kit too but it did not look right. Too skinny I thought and as you say it is 1/50th no matter what the box says.
  6. You are more than welcome. Yeah if it was not for this thread I would not even have known about the special boxing by Hasegawa plus the two schemes in it. I have many of their Skyhawk kits in 1/48th but was not following too closely on their releases. I would go broke really fast and I like to stay married 🀣. My Superscale sheet is in 1/48 as that is the scale I build in mostly.
  7. So just did some searching and both VT-7 anniversary schemes are in the Hasegawa boxing. For the white scheme, there are two blues on the decal sheet and you have to mask the dark blue. The guy who built it said there was blue on the underside. I think you would need to find an instruction sheet to see what the scheme looked like? http://www.ipmsusa.org/reviews2/aircraft/kits/hasegawa_48_ta4j-2/hasegawa_48_ta4j-2.htm
  8. Hey I have that sheet still as I was too scared of doing all that masking. I think there is some sort of pattern on the wings judging from the slats but it does not extend to the wing tips. Dark blue version looks simpler with the gold on the flap and wing tip. Hasegawa boxing shows top view taken from carrier tower I think.
  9. I thought Moskit was no more? Somehow I remember someone else doing metal exhausts. Also, to be honest I think the resin versions seem to be pretty good. Felinoid did you have a look at Scalemates? You can do a search there and see what pops. www.scalemates.com
  10. Interesting. I don't seem to remember having any sort of trouble fitting my BB cockpit into the kit. It has been a long time. I should check my pictures and jog my memory. If the fit was bad like Aires, I would remember πŸ˜€
  11. Thanks for the insight Darren. I knew most of what you said but not all. What I really liked about AM was the fact that their instructions were great and the subjects were really good. I still have several Avengers and B-25 kits. One good thing is that at least the kits are still available but under a different label.
  12. Oops yeah you are right. I think I am thinking about KMC sets. My bad.
  13. I think I have almost all of the Black Box sets. Multiple copies too, yeah I know silly. I have used a couple and the last one was the F-15E set. It fit the Revell kit very nicely. Also from what I have read, the masters for the Black Box sets were bought by Squadron and added to their True Details line. Or maybe i am wrong.

    B-29

Wow never knew that so many pieces of nose art existed. Makes sense though as it was a perfect canvas for them. It should be yet another great seller. Funny thing is that I just got my first Monogram 1/48th B-29 late last year. Never had one before for some silly reason. I got it because I found some decals for it for green camo B-29s with nose art. The kit I got was started but was done well plus the price was right. It is a big kit so I am glad Kursad is thinking of this in 1/72nd. Much more manageable cost and size..
  15. There is a Facebook group for decals now, people post there looking for decals. Maybe you can get a partial sheet? My friend was lucky there as he found someone who sold him the decal he was looking for. Also I have been buying decals for years of subjects I like even though I did not have the kit. Figured the sheets were short run. I could always get the kit but not the decals. Slowed down lots now but still have too many decals πŸ˜‚
  16. Yup it is noticeable but what I meant was maybe it might be better to scratch. Still have one HC kit left.
  17. dylan those are so nice. Well the photos not the wheel wells πŸ˜€. I think for most of us, unless you are looking into the wheel wells on our models a simple wash as you say should be good enough.
  18. I have drawn it out in 3D CAD and it is tiny. Not sure it would be worth it. I think I am going to use the one on the HC kit as a template and scratch it.
  19. Great build on a difficult kit, well at least I think so. I never finished mine and it is still part built. Love the paint work too, well done.
  20. Cool thanks. I think I already have a Hustler probe but now it looks like I will have to get another. Also never heard of the Brigade line. Great yet another thing to look for LOL.
  21. That's looking nice so far Dutch. So since I don't usually build 1/72nd I am assuming I could do the same thing in 1/48th and use a 1/48th B-58 pitot.
  22. So with all this talk about the SVNAF Bearcats it has really peaked my interest. I see that Hobbyboss has a 1/48th kit so that might work considering the HC kit is hard to find. Probably issues with the kit but don’t really care too much as there are a couple of Quickboost sets to enhance a bit. I am more interested in doing the SVNAF markings in that natural metal scheme. It seems that Hobbyboss also issued the kit in several markings including French in that blue scheme so that is cool. If I pick up the kit maybe I can scrounge the markings from the Hobbycraft kits.
  23. Well that is cool looking. Can I not use the Kitty Hawk kit?
  24. Well more good news. I have the Wareagle RF-8 vac conversion so these would come in handy. My vac comes with decals but they are OLD. I think I picked up this around 1983.
  25. Does any Aires set fit without a ton of work? Also what's the problem with the kit seat? I have their F-15I kit so just wondering here.
