  1. Well I saw that and happy. I have the very old Heller 1/35th kit and it is a whopper. Even though I build 1/48th I am happy as even in 1.72nd it will be a decent size.
  2. Thanks for the kudos guys. Forgot that I actually put up some pics in this post. Still have not fixed my 206 and now I have to fix my Swedish Navy one. Got to finish the one I have partly built too.
  3. Interesting topic. I for one don't really want to pay for more packaging. I already recycle my box and plastic wrap on the sprues if they comes wrapped. All I care about is that they wrap the clear pieces and the decals. I have many boxes from manufacturers that never wrapped anything. Lots of scratched clear pieces. Scratches on the plastic itself is not an issue as I put a scouring pad to the kit before I paint anyway.
  4. I had one of those. I think there is also no pilot's name in the name bar.
  5. I think our hobby has changed and evolved. I recall when the Aurora Arrow kit was in hot demand. Even the box was worth something. I bet now that is not the case as people just don't care about that stuff anymore. Ok maybe some do but not me. I even built some of my Aurora kits. I used to collect Todd McFarlane hockey figures and yes there were some with miss prints on the figures and even missing water bottles in the goalie sets. They went for stupid money when people found them. I committed the ultimate sin by opening mine and actually displaying them. Still have a lot of them i
  6. So this is good news. Does that mean I can stop hunting for the Revell kit? I think that kit is someone else's moulds anyway. A different version too right?
  7. Looks great Kursad. It is a shame that the USAF kept these in overall grey scheme but I understand. I can build my F-111 in the camo.
  8. Wow that's funny. Just so happened to be on while eating lunch. All in the timing I guess.
  9. Didn't Monogram also release one in 1/72nd many years ago? Probably the Revell one now I would think. Also since you are asking, Caracal Models is planning on a new EF-111 decal sheet in 1/48th. He has scaled down a lot of his line so there is that.
  10. Wow some great photos there. Thanks so much for sharing. I had heard somewhere they reversed engineered a lot of the equipment including the Phoenix. Their Orions were also brought back to life with the help of someone else.
  11. Yes please. And since your figures are adaptable in all the scales it will be great.
  12. Well received my copy recently and holy cow what a book. I would truly say that if you are building a model of the Prowler you need this book. In fact there is almsot too much information if that is such a thing. Well done Jake. I have a few other books on the Prowler but nothing compares. I have 3 Monogram kits and almost afraid to start them with the info in this book. I would probably end up rebuilding everything. I am not sure how the Kinetic kit compares but I have read it is much better. Maybe I should start there as it may be less of a headache.
  13. I think you will like it. Make sure you shake it well and put it in some warm water before using. Also, I know lots of guys decant and use it in their airbrush but I am too lazy for that. I really should though as you do waste less paint. I also spray over Tamiya primer but probably not necessary as it is a lacquer base so bonds really well. Masking tape does not pull it up.
  14. I have only ever seen one of those 1/72nd C-141 kits built. I believe it was the ID Models vac form kit. The builder did a great job and I think it was before it was stretched. Anyway we may not see one of those C-141s as the USAF does not even use it anymore so not in the modeller's eye anymore? Kits in 1/144 and those are nice.
  15. Have you tried Tamiya AS-12? It is a great NM starting point. To be honest I found Floquil Old Silver to be finicky to work with. Maybe I was using it wrong. Oh and Tamiya has several silvers in their spray can line.
  16. Well I am patient. Always good to wait for quality and accuracy. Do not have the Roden kit and only one of the Italeri kits and that is the gunship. Will have to start looking for the Rode kit.
  17. I wonder if any of my Koku Fan books would have pictures of what you are looking for. I have them going back to 1972 so several issues in there during Desert Storm. Will give me something to do this weekend.
  18. I recall seeing something posted by Raymond that basically said that it has been postponed as several large kits got released this year and they did not want to overburden the modeller. Still coming out from what I have read. I think next year it will only get worse with the WNW Lancaster coming.
  19. Didn't that other company do what they di in 1/72nd in 1/48th too if there was a kit?
  20. Kursad I think anything you issue will be well received as the other sheets are mostly long gone. Seen some silly prices for them on evilbay. The silver ones with the old TAC badge on the tail would be great. Also as Nathant mentioned the wrap around camo one is a great idea. I believe that was called "My Karma". Was there not another one in brown and tan camo too?
  21. Hey guys thanks so much for the help. Ray I apologize, yes your link did help. I misspoke. I meant I went on line to see what changes I should be aware of between the civil and military versions of the real thing. I think I will still go ahead and use my kit and Mike's conversion.
  22. Wow those look great. Now I am torn. The Qatar one is very nice but that Egyptian one looks even better. I have 3 Revell kits and one will be French Tiger Meet but then the other two can be these ones from your sheet.
  23. Thanks for the info Dutch. I was just on ebay today and it is listed but does not say not released as yet or I could not find where they say that in the listing. Price seems ok and the decal does look good.
  24. This is great news Kursad. I must be out of the Rafael loop as I never knew those Airforces had purchased the Rafael. Now to go do the Google thing to see what these schemes look like.
  25. Thanks but could not find info. I think I did ok as I believe the RCAF did use it for VIP transport.
