  1. In addition to the engine intakes, this kit needs an aftermarket HUD. Something 3D printed along the lines of what Flying Leathernecks made for the Harrier and Hornet.
  2. About the same price as the Phase Hangar stuff. https://phasehangarresin.com/collections/48001-1-48/products/48160-a-10-warthog-engine-inlet-and-exhaust-combo-set-academy
  3. I can speak with authority that IN ANG seats have the fixed pitots. FWIW they all have sheep skin cushions.
  4. I’m sorry to read about all the pin marks on the kit. Hopefully they are not too difficult to deal with. I have been looking forward to this kit’s release. BTW where did you get your kit from?
  5. First hobby shop I remember was Village Hobbies located inside the Breton Village mall in Grand Rapids, MI. The barber I went to was in the same mall so after a haircut I would hit the hobby store. They were a source for Tamiya armor kits, Humbrol and Tamiya paints among other things. They closed down sometime in the early 1980’s. By that time I could drive and there were many other hobby shops in the area I could go to.
  6. Interesting way to hand prop an airplane. The few times I have hand propped an airplane to start it always made me a little nervous .
  7. Check out Janissary’s Hornet build. He uses a Sharpie and isopropyl alcohol. I know Sharpie makes gold pens. You could give that a try.
  8. Looks awesome. Just added this kit to the stash. Seeing your work makes me want to put it on the next to do list.
  9. Definitely will be getting the intakes and fans.
  10. When I built my Flying Tiger P-40 I painted mine green based on these color pictures of production line pre US involvement in WWII. If you scroll another 1/3 of the way down there is a photo where they are painting fuel tanks green. https://www.flickr.com/photos/35963591@N00/albums/72157622864527612/
  11. Is there an announced release date and MSRP yet? So far all I have heard is it is due out in January.
  12. I have the same dilemma. I spent $$$ on all of PHR conversions to turn the HobbyBoss A model to a C. Dave Roof was a genius for resisting the urge to get all the sets. I pulled my conversion sets and the kit out yesterday and started to look at what needed to be done. The PHR stuff is really nice but there is a lot of cutting that needs to be done. Too much for me when I can get a C model right out of the box. Some of the PHR stuff can be used for an A model. Perhaps some will fit the Academy kit like the engine intakes and the ejection seat. I spent too much money just to toss it all in the
  13. Andy’s Hobby HQ has a preview.
  14. This is a nice figure. Any chance of something similar but a male pilot?
  15. Ditto. His message seemed odd, so I passed on what he had to offer, figuring it was a scam. I figured it was either that or this guy has the best stash of hard to find, out of production items out there.
  16. Phase Hangar resin does have pods loaded with APKWS.
  17. I’ve wondered the same. It’s hard to tell from the sprue diagram posted above. Attack Squadron made LAU-131 pods but Attack Squadron has stopped producing resin products. Supposedly the molds were sold to Brengun and they were going to start producing the Attack Squadron products under their line. I have not seen the Brengun items yet, others may know more. Maybe Dave Roof can come through with his Flying Leathernecks line. A new LAU-131 pod would be a great addition. *I was also beat out responding.
  18. I’m hoping the decelerons have the option of being posed in the closed position. Is there a release date yet? Hopefully I’ll be able to put the kit on my Christmas list.
  19. I know they have been featured already, is there any chance of adding MN ANG from Duluth to this sheet?
