  1. Not to hijack this thread but I didn't know there was a Hobbytown in NH. Is the shop any good? Do you know where they are moving to?

Boy does that kit look nice. I was plannning on selling my Hasegawa and picking this one up instead. I bet you'll still get people who say the cowl is not right.
  3. Oooh! Lots of silver. I'll be anxious to see this when you've got it all done. Again, you're doing a great job so far.
  4. Kinetic models? Who are they? I assume they are Chinese. Am I correct. I knew they did a 1/32 Saber. Is that kit any good? What can we expect for the F-16's? (I know I'm asking a lot of questions) I can't wait to see the sprue shots for these kits. Mark
  5. Good idea not to open the aft stairway. It would take a life time to scratch build all the detail back there. Nice job on the flight crew. One thing, are you planning on using the American decals that came with the kit? If you are, the stripes on the pilot's epaulets should be white on blue, not gold on blue.
  6. Also, the captain should be looking at the Engineer as if to say "boy, just what in the _ _ _ _ are you doing?" And there should be a ramper sleeping in one of the baggage compartments. Erick (sorry I misspelled your name on my last post) Are you planning on leaving the aft stairway open? Mark
  7. I took my kids to see the touring "Star Wars" exhibit a few years ago. They had the orginal Falcon from episode IV. It was cool to study the model and see all the parts from various kits they used to bash that thing together. The thing I remember most distinctly were the upper decks from 1/35 Panther tanks used as the top of the Falcon. It was pretty cool. Unlike the computer generated models they used for the recent movies. It took the skill of a model builder to put it togather. Randy, good looking job on the X-Wing.
  8. Erik, As a former oiler (F/E) on this jet for AA I'll be watching this one. Looks good so far. Nice work on the baggage compartments. One comment. There should be two jumpseats, the foward one should be right up against the captain's seat so there isn't any room for the jumpseat rider's legs. The other seat usually was up against the aft bulk head. There was a small table/shelf mounted to the side of the fuselage next to the seats and we usually stored our crew luggage under this shelf. Oh and if you want to add the ultiamte realism to your model, you should depict the F/O as doing a
  9. Are the little AOA covers painted to look like tiger heads? Did you make those with putty too. Nice job on the Viper, fantastic paint job and weathering.
  10. SAMI did a reveiw on his inakes a few months back and listed his email as Goratgo70@aol.com
  11. looks great. Definately a different paint scheme on an F-16. Very nice job.
  12. The other thing I don't like about the Monogram kit is that you have to deal with the open aielron/speedbrake "what-do-you-call-it" things on the wing. Then there's the tube of putty you'll go through building the thing. You will have the sense of accomplishing something when you're done.
  13. Man I hope so. If it is like the last time they were re-released, you could only find them for about six months then they were all gone. I'll buy 20, keep a couple for myself and sell the rest on ebay. I'll get better returns than I do investing in the stock market. :D
  14. Must have been he has seen the previews for the new EA-6B sheet that Afterburner decals is planning on doing.
  15. Poor guy, you had to amputate his feet. Lookin' good.
  16. The Greek version. I think their camo looks sharp!
  17. It's a false myth propgated by the media that we only work 70 hours a month, yet earn $300,000.00 a year. Rusty hit the nail on the head with his post.
  18. Darren, Looks good. I would say the weathering is just right. I have heard many complaints about the nose on this kit being too wide. It looks okay to me, did you do anything to change the profile and width? Mark
  19. Terry, I have both of these sets and I am using them for an F-16 that I'm doing for the group build. They are a vast improvement over the kit. I highly recommend them both. I will echo most of Netz's comments about the sets, but will add a few comments. The wheel wells pretty much drop right in, the center section between the two gear wellss is a little too short and will require some filling at the ends. Also I found the nose gear requires some thinning to get part D 30 to fit well. I'm using an intake cover, so I have not concerned my self with getting a good fit here. The detail in t
  20. What kind of canopy does the aircraft you're modeling have, tinted or clear? I would think that's the criteria you would use to decide which canopy to use.

    Tamiya Storch

Has it even been released yet?
  22. I'm sure they'll get right on it, right after they release TA-4 in 1/48.
