  1. Guys, I have spent literally hours trying to find some 1/48 photoetch belt buckles, but can't find them. I don't remember the company, but I know there was a relatively new company that had some very well done buckles (and some other stuff), but I seem to be remiss on who the heck the company was. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks...(btw, it was NOT Waldron.) Jim
  2. Just curious as to whether Tamiya modeled the correct wingtip rails for the Block 52 TBird. I have the Block 32/52 kit, and want to model a Block 52 for a friend. Thanks... Jim
  3. I read somewhere that the landing gear and the wheel wells in the Typhoon were very light gray and NOT white. Can someone please verify this for me? The pics here on ARC look white to me. Where do the oxygen hoses on the left side of the seat go when they're not hooked up? Do they have plugs in them? Are they attached to anything? I remember seeing a site that had different sizes of wire (might have been a model car site) for plumbing. Does anyone know anything aobut that, or have a website? Thanks in advance for any help... Jim
  4. B-1 Nut, That is a GREAT pic, but it looks like its missing the bottom cushion. Do you have any other photos of the seat? All I have is the marketing stuff from M-B, and I'm not really sure that those are production seats. What are the hoses on the left side of the seat for on the M-B, Ltd. site? I'm looking forward to the 1/32 kit as well, but I'm still going to build the 1/48! Thanks for the pic... (This from an F-16 Viper fanatic.) Pic deleted in reply...one image is enough without repeating it over and over. Jim
  5. Bobski, The kit seat is kind of 'sparse', don't you think? Jim
  6. Anyone know of anyone that is going to be doing any a/m bang seats for the Revell 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon? I was hoping that, with the impending release of their 1/32 scale kit, that someone would take up the challenge. That way, they could maximize their production by doing two scales. (Okay, I'm just lazy...) I was kind of hoping that Two Mikes would pick it up, since they have those awesome inner pylons. Really, though, just curious... Jim
  7. Moritz, Thanks so much for researching this. I would've been pulling my hair out. I did figure out the ejection seat decals, but had no idea that there is/was/are/were (take your pick) any decals on the intake. Now I feel like I can actually get started on this before the 1/32 version shows up. I hope someone does a decent Martin-Baker Mk 16A seat in resin for both kits, as good references for all sides of the seat are hard to come by. Best regards, Jim
  8. Thanks for the reply, but after downloading the file and checking, it's the exact same inistruction set as what I got in the kit. Thanks for trying, though... Jim
  9. Hi, folks.... Has anyone that has built the RoG 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon and noticed that the decal numbers on the decal sheet don't match the decals drawn and numbered on the instructions? How can I get the correct decal placement sheet? Is it even available? Thanks for any help... Jim
  10. Phil, What, exactly, do you mean when you say you "over sprayed with Alclad magnesium"? No offense, but that sounds pretty vague. Can you be a little more explicit in your description? How much did you overspray? Two coats? Three coats? How thin? I have the Wolfpack 'pit as well. Glad you think it's worth the money...I wasn't sure. I don't have any p/e (needed?), and currently have no plans to get any, but I did pick up the Wolfpack exhausts as well. We'll see how that works out, as it looks somewhat convoluted. Very nice Raptor build, by the way... Jim
  11. What on earth kind of call-outs is RoG using for their paint callouts? I mean, really... First call-out is the letter A which consists of: "25% Light Grey, Silky-matt; 74% Grey, Silky-Matt; 1% Blue, Matt" Give me a break...maybe I should just paint it Coast Guard Orange overall and call it good. ANY help with the paint on this jet would be appreciated. (Probably doing the RAF version). Thanks, guys... Jim
  12. Guys, Thanks a bunch for the links! I don't know why I never saw them before. I really needed those cockpit pics, as those are the first ones I've seen. I'd like to see a few more cockpit pics: sidewalls, rear of 'pit behind the seat, more pics of the bang seat, stuff like that. Oh, and one more thing, if I may: Are the RAF Typhoons ALL getting the T.3 upgrade, and what kind of an upgrade is it? (Or was that even an RAF upgrade, and not Spain, Italy or one of the other nations? Hey, I'm basically an F-16 guy, so I have to ask). Thanks again, gentlemen...most impressive! Jim
  13. I have the RoG 1/48 trundling its way to me as I write this, but I have noticed a lack of good resources concerning pics of this jet. I have spent hours trying to find pics, but all I have been able to find are a couple of cockpit pics and specs for the jet. Any of you Europeans (and all others, if you know) know where I can find decent color pics of the Eurofighter? I found a couple of good pics of the bang seat (one side, anyway) but I need more than that. Also, if anyone knows where I can get a resin Martin-Baker Mk 16A ejection seat for the plane, I'd be most grateful (thus the 'mo
  14. Thanks, Paul. Anyone got macro pics of the IP from the kit? I don't have the kit just yet. Thanks in advance... Jim
  15. Does anyone have any idea what happened to this? It looked really good, from what I remember. Thanks for any info... Jim
  16. So, my guess is that the instrument panel is used from the kit or, there is a new one that hasn't been seen yet. Can someone please advise? Thanks... Jim
  17. Guys, As mentioned in thread title and topic, I am looking for descriptions on the interior colors for this plane, including the wheel well colors, all the IP colors, seats, headrests, belts, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking specifically for the colors circa 1942-1944. Also, when did the US start using the bar (along with the star) on aircraft? Thanks in advance for any help! Jim

    USN Interiors

To anyone that knows, I hate to sound like I'm sorta hijacking this thread, but it DOES have to do with USN interiors, to whit: I have the Signifer 1/48 JR5 Grumman Goose, and since it's a Navy aircraft I'm looking for ideas on the inside of the wheel wells, interior color(s), cockpit colors, etc. The directions call for "light fawn", and I guess one person painted it "sail". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jim

    P-40E Backdate

Jay,In my humble opinion, 'tweaking' the Trumpeter kit would be just as bad, if not worse, than trying to do a conversion from an -E to a -B. The 'tweak list' that D Bellis posted here is an extremely comprehensive list of problem areas on the Trumpeter P-40B/C kit that would make it just as difficult, if not way more trouble than it's worth to try and backdate. All I was doing was basic research to see if it was even doable (not with my somewhat limited skills), so I'll wait for a decent -B kit before I pursue this further. In the meantime, I still llike the looks of the -E, so maybe I

    P-40E Backdate

Hi... Is it possible to do this using Hasegawa's 1/32 P-40E? Very curious...I see that there's a conversion set for the Revell kit, but I'm not sure it would work with the Has kit. Comments, opinions welcome. Jim
  21. Okay, I know this is a longshot, but I'd really like to see Randy's pics again. (I had a feeling I should have saved them, but what are you gonna do? I was going to save them the other night, but they appear to have been deleted, so I'm grasping at straws here). Thanks, anyone, for any help. Jim
  22. Guys, I need to make a couple of comments. First, to John Tavendale and Richard, my apologies for coming off like an rude and arrogant idiot. I re-read MasterJedi's post again (the first one) and realized that he did, in fact, say what he was using for photo-etch...my brain just didn't understand what he said. There was no connection there for some weird reason, so again, my sincerest apologies. Second, what the heck happened to the pictures? I don't see any of them associated with this build any more. Are they still here somewhere? Thanks for any help... Jim
  23. *Double-Post again-Dagnabit!!*
  24. Thanks for the reply, John, but in case you forgot he's using a wheel-bay set, so the undercarriage set wouldn't be needed. I'll take a closer look at the other set, though...that one looks promising. Jim
  25. *DELETED* Double-post: Sorry!
