  1. Richard, While I appreciate the reply, you should probabaly re-read my post I clearly and distinctly asked for the manufacturer's name(s) for the am parts. The only one Randy mentioned was the Avionix cockpit, which I said that I already have. ...(I just saw that he mentioned Eduard for the photo-etch, but which one(s)?) To continue that train of thought...which wheel well set? Couldn't be Aires, because I couldn't find it for the Tamiya kit...only Hasegawa, and I know that's too short for the Tamiya kit. Which two sets of Eduard photo-etch? Which exterior detail set? The only Eduard
  2. Does anyone know, or can anyone guess, what the AM stuff Randy used on this build was/is? Any help greatly appreciated (specifically looking for manfacturers...I have the Avionix 'pits, but am looking for everything else.) Thanks in advance, ladies and gents.... Jim
  3. What do you guys think of this? It looks pretty cool to me, but what do I know? (Kinda pricey, though) http://www.voyagermodel.com/products/VA480...VA480402_02.jpg Comments and opinions welcome. I'm also looking for exterior photo etch and the two photo etch sets that Randy (MasterJedi) is using on his build. (Eduard set 49383 is one, I think, but I don't know what the other one would be.) Thanks in advance... Jim
  4. Guys and gals, I thought that I had sent MasterJedi a PM related to his F-16 build, but received no response, and now I see that I don't even have it in my PM 'Sent' folder, so I probably messed up somewhere. I can't find the two sets of photo etch from Eduard (just the Big Ed set); I can't find a wheel bay set (for the Tamiya kit); I can't find an exterior set (for the Tamiya kit). All I have is the Avionix pit, although it appears to be a decent place to start. I'm also trying to find the scab plates from DeltaCross, but can't find the website, and I saw a gorgeous photo etch burn
  5. Too bad they don't list Vallejo/Vallejo Air. I haven't seen a list comparing them to FS numbers, but that would sure be useful to me. Jim
  6. Alrighty, then...1 pre-order Kinetics F-16AM and 1 pre-order Tamiya F-16 Block 25/32. That's quite enough for now. (They were ordered on different days, though.) Gordon, Can you help me out here? I don't know what happened, but I only wanted to pre-order one (1) of the Tamiya F-16's, Block 25/32. Somehow I have two (2) on order, so I'd like to cancel Ord. #113372, and keep Ord. #113370, if that's possible. Thanks for the help... Jim (btw, I tried to send you a pm, but apparently it's disabled on your end, or it's full, but I couldn't send it, so I tacked my problem on to my messag
  7. Well, it looks to me like it's a separate part, so maybe Kinetic sent Raymond the wrong donut ring for that aircraft, but then I have no idea when they will produce a 32/42/52 block aircraft, so I guess now would be the time to fix that before it goes into production, unless they have both rings in the kit. (Hey, with over 450 parts it IS possible, ya know!) (On a side note, those engraved lines look pretty thick and deep) jmho... Jim
  8. Stephane, I am really excited to see the masterful work you've done on the CEV-606, but I have a question: Is the 607 the CM with the lander, or is there something else you are planning? I see work that's labeled 606 and work that's labeled 607, so I'm kinda confused on which is which, as they both are Command Modules. Could you clarify for me, please? Are you going to do a set that includes both the lander and the CM? If so, for how much? Once again, terrific work! All the best, Jim
  9. Chuck1945,I have a Harder and Steenbeck Infinity 2-in-1 airbrush. I'm not too concerned about the tank cycling, but I would like it to be relatively quiet. One of my biggest concerns is being able to get to low pressures, even if using the compressor you linked to. When I first started I was cranking up to 30 or 35 lbs. for a session. Needless to say, I've learned some things since then. I'd like to have one of the silent compressors, but I just don't have the money right now, andthe Christmas budget is kind of tight, so I'm trying to find a compromise. Thanks much for the reply... Jim
  10. Huey Gunner,Roger that on that particular model. As stated in my post, I linked to that specific airbrush, but it's only capable of .5 cfm... Is that enough airflow for up to 60 psi? I was told I would be better off if I have 1.25 cfm minimum. Whatcha think? Jim
  11. Hey, everyone, Why is finding a compressor becoming so difficult? Cubic feet per minute, tank versus tankless, moisture trap, filter, regulator, various horsepower ranges on the motor...make it STOP!! Okay, I got that out of my system!! I was told that I need to have at least 1.25 cfm airflow out of my airbrush, but no more than 2.50 cfm (as that would be overkill), but the compressor I'm looking at is .5 cfm, but it looks like it has everything else I want. Specifically, this one: http://www.airbrushcity.com/2010.htm I don't know what I have now. It's some Paasche rattletrap that i
  12. silver1, c2f100, many thanks for your input. I'll look into both ideas. I really appreciate your input. Gerald, OBD, The one I'm looking at is only .5 cfm...not much, but I don't know how much I need, BUT...it does come with a moisture trap, regulator, filter and gauge. It also has two readings on the pressure gauge...one for what's at the brush, and the other for what's actually coming out of the airbrush at the tip when it's spraying. Any idea on what's needed as far as cfm goes? Thanks in advance... Jim
  13. Hey, all...a quick question, if you don't mind. Wife wants to know what to get me for Christmas, and since we don't have a lot of money, I opted for a new compressor. I've looked at Airbrush City, and they have a couple of compressors that I think would work for me, but I wonder how much pressure I really need, since I keep hearing about low air pressures. Would a compressor that produces 60psi be enough, or should I go with the 80psi model? This will be used with a Harder-Steenbeck Inifinity airbrush. Thanks for any advice... Jim
  14. Jake, Please tell me there are plans for F-15E's in the works. What a great airplane! Not enough done for these, being night and multi-mission capable and all. Jim
  15. Hey, CobraHistorian,If you know anyone, (and I mean anyone who does current markings for the Swordsmen, please let me know. I've been wanting to do the CAG jet for awhile, now. I currently have the old decals from SS, but the modex is wrong, and apparently there were changes on the artwork before it was approved (IF it was approved, that is.) IF you know something, please enlighten me, and thanks. Jim
  16. Jake, Just wanted to say thank you for a job well done on the F-16C/D Exposed. Excellent photos and layout, and outstanding explanations for all the pics. Your commitment to the quality of your products and to your customers is exemplary. I salute you, sir. Jim
  17. ...without destryoing the part you're working on. I am on my third (3rd) 1/48 Aires F-16CJ seat because I keep breaking pieces off of them. Other times, it's the HUD glass holder on top of the instrument panel coaming, although in this case I also managed to screw up the seat as well. I also managed to break the HUD glass holder on my 1/32 scale Aires pit as well. SO...how do you sand this stuff without breaking it, since resin is so dang brittle and fragile? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim
  18. You don't wait fo the propellant to bubble out? Curious.... Jim
  19. Thanks, Kev...Now I understand! Many thanks... Jim
  20. Okay, I broke down. Pre-order sent.Really looking forward to the book. Jim
  21. As stated: I need to know how accurate the colors are on the instruction sheet, and if not, what colors do I use? (Couldn't find anything on-line) Thanks in advance for any help... Jim (ps I'm specifically speaking about the grays-FS 36375 and 36495)
  22. So, I'm a little dense, but could someone please explain what a "flash coat" is? TIA... Jim

Thanks, Ken....I finally figured out what they're getting at! (Helps to look at the parts). Jim
  24. Guys, Speaking of Aires, here's a pic of my 1/48 Aires cockpit for the Tamiya F-16CJ Block 50 kit. Be very careful when sanding, as you can see that the HUD (or whatever) frame can be broken very easily. Here's a pic to show you what I mean... http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t122/JimC-05/IMG_0379.jpg (Caveat: This is the first one I got from Sprue Bros. It was broken when I received it, but I broke the second one also (same place, only on the other side.) At any rate, be very cautious when sanding these, as they are very fragile. Jim
