  1. : ive rebuilt one of mine 3 tiems already..i purchased it when i was 10-11 at going out of business sale and he gave it to me cheaper casue he ahted to see a kid spend so much moeny. originally it was the dambusters...and i built it in probably 3 days. 5-6 years later i tried to turn it into a mk10mr which went downt the toilet cause i couldnt make good bomb doors, then jsut 3 months ago(after 4 years of sittign at the bottom of a moving box) i reserected it with the doors off of the b1(using bulged nes from paragon). luckily i only have to fight with merlins on one of them
  2. yeah..i realized that AFTER i bought the conversion and read the history. now i have two older tamyia models i can strip and redo..after my LONG list of current builds.
  3. belevie me..if you have the money and youc an get them...buy the belcher bits. ive been working on my nacelles for almost 2 weeks 1-2 hours a day..i dont know if its an issue with my particular model..but the fit is absolutly horrible. ihave had to scarpe and sand most of the nacelle tops off...then use superglue to stiffen up the littel bit of plastic left...then shave the rest of the nacelle to try to get the original shape back. ill try to get a good pic of this tonight when i get home and post it. it ahs to be the worst part of the model.
  4. i jsut bought the conversion kit the other day to. tho, with 6 models on the go right now and my average finish time round 8 months..itll be a while till i get around to it. i was all set to chop up my spit and me-109 to try to frankenstein one...luckily i found this first
  5. ottawa's lanc... easier to get to but there is NO way to get a good shot of the top of the wings. i was with the cadet squadron there for almost 10 years so i know that museum like tha back of my hand. the only way is if theytake up into the rafters adn i use a zoom..NOT going to ahppen..lol. Toronto's lanc.... Never even thought of that one...is there an area to see the tops of the wings?? if so i could see myself hittign that sooner that hamilton..then again..ahmilton is only another 2 hours and they have a perfect balcony to see the tops of the wings from. windsor... great ide
  6. thanks everybody for the help. as for the raised/recessed argument..i know recessed is wrong.but i had to sand one of my lancs as i was rebuilding an older model..so im doing the new one so they look as close as posible since they will be sittine together. and i almsot wish i ahd purchased the belcher bits engines. im doign one as a mk2 and one as a mk10mr so i only need the engines for the one..and i thought id do them myself..and its turnign into a nightmare..but i proised myself i wouldnt spend any more on models as i need to save my $$. so im gritting my teeth and sanding, filling and sh
  7. hi, i do know that they did use the Grey scheme carried by other RNAS aircraft. I am unsure whether they used normal camo scheme at first..but my gut feeling would be no as they were modified at the factory so would have been repainted. they ahd 3 ( I beleive) converted test aircraft so tehy may have had the camo scheme or englands famous yellow protoype scheme. that might need a bit of research or some one else around here who knows more than me. ny safe bet would go with the RNAS standard scheme of the time. Hope this helps, sean

  11. thanks kitnut..i would have definately missed that one!! none of the references i have mentioned that..tho a check on the pics do indeed show the reversed pitch. you think paragon would mention that on the sheets!!
