  1. Charlie, I think many of us who currently have stuff up for sale are in the same boat; I've had a list of kits up for, oh about three months? And I haven't sold even half of that list. It's just the time of year, the world wide economy, and the whimsy of who wants what at the moment I think. Be patient and keep reposting from time to time. You're prices are very reasonable, if not down right cheap on some items (those Dragon Butcher Birds come to mind.... wrong scale or I'd be all over them!).
  2. The F7F Tiger Kitty is taking a trans-Atlantic hop to the UK.
  3. Ahh, I think I see. You basically butchered the fork, reshaped the wheel and scratched a new fork? I thought you somehow performed some voodoo magic and managed to hollow it with everything intact :P
  4. Great work. How did you manage hollowing everything out for the main gear and wheels?
  5. For me.... all of the really old Airfix, Heller, Hasegawa, Frog, Airlines, etc etc kits I've acquired this year
  6. I'll throw my hand in on Mike being a great person to deal with. Very reasonable prices, very reasonable shipping charges, and great old kits. I've purchased lots from him twice now.

  8. Namely, availability. At the moment in my area there are no bottled primers that would be considered 'good' (such as Alclad). So I'm experimenting with the decanted Tamiya. Next up is thinning down some good old Mr. Surfacer 1000, but I'll see if I can get my LHS to bring in a bottle of the Alclad bottled primer soon.
  9. strange, don't know where my <solved> reply went, so I'll post again..... No noticeable affect on the Vallejo acrylic, was careful to only mist the coat on in that area.
  10. De-gassing wasn't an issue, I let it do that last week for about 30hrs. In hind sight I may just not have had enough paint flow dialed in; it was coming out basically like a bit more than a mist coat. Another environmental factor, though, is the humidity here: today is actually rather wet at an astounding 40%, even with the 4" of snow we got yesterday. Colorado has some dry air! I may invest in a humidifier.
  11. Primered my little SBLim-2Art today, using decanted Tamiya Fine Surface Primer through my ancient Aztek 100 airbrush, and encountered a small issue. There was a lot of 'specking' (like dried paint and whatnot), even though I sprayed at about 15psi and from about 1"-2" away. Even though it should be perfectly fine the way it is as it's formulated to be sprayed from the aerosol can, should I perhaps add a drop or two of thinner next time?
  12. Quick question. I'm getting ready to airbrush on a coat of Tamiya Fine Primer, but I have a layer of Vallejo Model Air on the canopy framing for the interior color. If I do light dust coats of the Tamiya in that area first, then continue with the full coverage of the model, will it react badly with the acrylic already on the canopy? The canopy has a base layer of Future on it too. Thanks.
  13. To possibly allay some of Mike's concerns, I recently shipped two kits to a gentleman down in San Juan, Argentina by name of Ernesto Gremoliche with no difficulties. The package arrived at his location after approximately two weeks transit time in perfect condition, despite there having been a 6.2 earthquake in NW Argentina right around the time I shipped them out.
  14. I'll be stockpiling several of these as soon as they become available here then
  15. Are you referring to "Fighter Pilot: The Memoirs of Legendary Ace Robin Olds" by chance? Was a very good read for me. As I recall from reading that and a few other sources, Olds named all of his birds "Scat (insert number)" for a friend of his from West Point who didn't make it into flight school.
  16. Ooooh! Guess I'm glad I didn't buy the old Revell/Matchbox 'Fax last month at my LHS.....
  17. Now, if we could get some markings for Robin Olds in Scat XXIII...........
  18. ...needs a 1/6 ships cat wandering around to add warmth excellent work my friend.
  19. As title states. I have lately started to prefer working on older kits, and would like to "one-for-one" trade my Academy kitting of the Super Etendard with Exocet for the same from Heller (note: the 1/72 kids meal size, thank you). Thanks.
