Hi again. Some more pics to follow.

Here you can see the oval exhaust that I have added behind the left main landing gear bay:

You can also notice from the previous pics that I have cut both the front and rear flaps, with the intention of depict them on extende position. Also I have drilled those little holes on the engine bays as I have found the on some walkarouns...

Some more tiny details added from the photoetched set and from scratch on the rear fuselage:

And also, some detail instaled on the inetrior of the intake trunks:

I installed the Quickboost resin nose cone and masked and dryfitted the canopy:

In the area just in front of the gun nozzle I engarved some tiny rivet. As this area will be finished in metalic colour thgis will add some more interest. Also replaced the plastic casted

gun nozzle for a brass rod.

Also some riverts were engarved on the dielectric area of the right vertical fin, and a distinctive antena were made from scratch on the top of the fin:

And here is it, ready to be primed:

hi again. Well, more than a mounth has passed since I said that I was going to post some update the next week... I, m really sorry for this long delay, again.

So it,s time for a new update.

After the work on the bays and intakes I painted the cockpit:

Here the instruments panel of the front cokpit in place:

And the rear atached to the bathtube:

With this I was able to close the fuselage:

Pics of this area are some blurry, but it looks much bette in person...

With all the previous work done I was able to install the intake trunks:

Here a closer look:

As you can see, I have added some tiny altought evident details more from scratch.

Some detail were added to the external side walls of the intake trunks, since these are part of the main wells:

Next step was the detail painting of these areas, in anticipation of installing the air intakes:

Hi again and Happy New Year all! After the Christmas season I was able to resume the work on this kit.

I started by detailing the main landing gear wells. Removed the casted detail on the upper fuselaje that conform the roof of the bay, and I replaced it with these photoetched parts from a set of Wolfpack-d.

As you can see, in the lower of the pic I began to add some detail made of copper wire and plastic card and strips. Here some more:

And this is other section of the right wheel well fully detailed:

Here, the rear part of the left well almost in its original appearance, for comparison.

I also detailed the front wheel well:

Hi again! With my Phantom conveniently stored and put on hold for some time I quickly was able to start with a new project.

This kit has been on my stash for some time and I always have a feeling for this aircraft and I really like those twin seat versions of some fighters. The kit itself is well know and has its detractors and bad reviews, but I think you can get a good result from it... I will be using some aftermarket: Dream Model photoetched set for cockpit and exterior details, Master pitot:

Aires buener cans, quickboost ejection seats and nose cone:

As you can see on a previous pic, some PE parts (from the Dream Model set) were added to the seats.

Here they are primmed:

work quickly started by the cockpit, with the help of the photo etched parts, and I also added some details from scratch:

I removed the floor from the original cockpit and lowered it as I feel that it was too high as it was.

Some details were also reproduced on the interior side walls of the cockpit:

Also the instruments panel cover was improved, although this part is not yet finished...

Some photoetched parts were added around the fuselage, following the instructions:

I also opened the IFR door:

And scratchbuilt it:

The tailhook also needs some maintenance, right? So I cut it apart :

And built its ineterior from scratch as well as the cover that has been removed:

Also the opened area on the front fuselage has been rebuiltas I was not very happy with my previous atempt:

And tha,s all for now and for some time... Sadly I have to admit that I have been overwhelmed by the complication that I have imposed on myself with the model and this has caused me to lose the motivation to continue with the project, so it has been put on hold for some time...

I have started another kit, triying to recover the "mojo" but I will return over this Phantom as soon as possible. This is a promise!

Hi again! I must say sorry one more time for all the delays with the updates on this project. I have involved myself on a very demanding project that includes a lot of scrachtbuilding and have been suffering some frustration with the slow progress that i am achieving...

Anyway, here you have some more pics. As you can see in this photo I had opened a record on the left side of the fuselage:

Although it already had the two parts (front and rear) of the fuselage assembled, during the work with the kit these were accidentally separated. This allowed me to open one more cover on the right side, showing one more section of the pipes along the fuselage and the air intake:

The interior was made from scratch:

Here is it dryfitted in place:

Then, the front and rear fuselga halves were reunited again, and the resin air intakes installed:

The frames of these openings were made from small photoetched strips from Eduard.

Not very happy with the result, as those strips are very delicate and they have finished slightly curved, but they will have to serve.

My crazyness to open panels and registers led me to open the compartment that houses the liquid oxigen reservoir in the lower part of the fuselage, just behind the front landing gear bay:

The colver will be displayed in open position:

Missing is the spherical bottle that I have made from scratch but don,t have a pic of it.

Hi all! First of all sorry for all this time without any updates on this thread. Summer, life, job and a lot of procrastination are the culprits of this delay...

Sorry again and I promisse that I will try to be more constant with this...

Last pics that I posted were of the wheels. Here you can see also the landing gear legs and undercarriage doors painted and weathered:

Hi all. I am looking for a part of the sheet: 1/72 microscale #AC72-0047 USAF PHANTOMS F-4E sharkmouth. Specifically I,m looking for the option for the 3rd TFW, that with the PN tail code and the "Bataan" nose art.

This option is also present on the decal sheet of the old 1/72 esci F-4E/F kit (ref #9027), so it would be welcome too.

Hi again! First of all, sorry for this days without any update. I have been some lazy about this...

Many thanks Joel and gene for your comments. In fact initially the painting/ weathering technique is quite scaring, but I feel that the result is good enought and the process allows me to control enough the final result, though its some laborious. And about the final appearance of the drop tanks, on Spanish Phantoms they used to be pretty dirty and weathered, even more than mines... But as Gene says Spanish Phantoms used to be kept in acceptable condition unlike Greeks ones.

well, I am being quite chaotic on my building, as I am shifting fro ano part of the kit to another without being able to finish none of them. This in part is due to the fact that I am adding as much detail as I am able and this makes each step long and boring sometimes, so I'm allowing myself this license to not get tired of the project...This of course is reflected in this thread that becomes somewhat messy too...

Enough talking and here we go with some more progress. I added a couple of aftermarket itemsto the inventory of the project:

Eduard TERs. My aircreft will be displayed as in mainteinace condition, hence unarmed, but I will be hanging a couple of this under the inner wing pylons.
