  1. hi friends! Many thanks for your praise words. I´m currently working on tha JA, and hope to have some pics on a couple of days. Cheers. Juan
  2. Hi there! Many thanks all for your patience and interest. At least I´ve managed to finish the construction of the AJ-37 and take some pics, so here is the kit, ready to be primed. The first thing that I did when I resumed the work after vacations was to fill the opening on the nose of the aircraft: I´ve been not able to find pictures of this hatch open on any AJ-37 and according to comments of some of you here , this vane is only relevant on the JA version. So here is the opening filled with plastic and CA glue and smoothed Other work consisted on adding some minor details, like o
  3. Hi there! No update still, just to say hello! I returned from holydays the last Tuesday, but have been very busy those days. Anyway, I'm resuming the project slowly. At present I'm working on the AJ version, fixing some problens on it. I will post the pics when it would be completed at least as is the SF (i.e. with all the parts installed and ready to be primed), hopely early next week. Meanwhile, keep the good work, mates. Cheers. Juan
  4. Hi Dave! LOL Thank you very much for your words and your humor. I'm sorry I caused you to get a Viggen... It's a great plane, but all the kits are, well, you know. And about your adiction ;) try to get another dealer. There are a lot of them all over this forum. Have a good summer. Thanks too to Aigore for your words, and wish you a good summer time. See you all on a couple of weeks. Cheers. Juan
  5. Hi Janne! Excelent proggres on that kit. I really like the cockpit anf those wheel bays. Keep that great work, friend. Cheers. Juan
  6. Hi again Many thanks Håkan for your kind words and your interest. And thanks for your info about the Syhart decals. I have it between the things to use on this project and the paint guide is excelent. About your project of that Viggens on special paint schemes it could be stunning! Niklas, many thanks for the info about that f****d hatch. I,ve been not able to find a picture if a AJ with it open, so I might have precipitated and I have to close it again, if at least is only used on the Jaktviggen… And about the pics of Akktu Stakki, they would be welcome when you can upload them.
  7. Many thanks to Laz, Moritz, Janne and Josepedro for your words and your attention. And thanks too to Niklas for the pic of the hatch. It would be usefull. I´m working at present to have the airframe of the SF-37 finished for the next week. It´s at 90% done but i still have to fix some blemishes and add minor details. I will post it when done. Greetings. Juan.
  8. Hi Janne! great job on that cockpit, as always. And your step by step on the drybrushing process is very illustrative. Well done. Cheers. Juan.
  9. Hi there! I´ve some new pics to show the progress. On the last update I showed the SF-37 kit with the wings atthached, so I did the same with two more aircrafts, the AJ-37: I still have to sand the joint of the fuselage/wing. The same was done with the rear fuselage of the JA-37 Here the two halves of the fuselage... …that were subsequently joined. I used CA glue on this joint, so I spent some time after this with the sandpaper and the filler. I still have refine the joint and add the extension to the upper spine, so more sanding, filling and rescribing is pending… The
  10. Hi Laz! I'm afraid to say you'll have to be patient, as there is a lot of work to be done until reaching the painting stage, but now at least I´m working with completed aircrafts, as I have assembled the wings on three kits and the canards on one of them, so they are beginning to look like real planes. Stay tunned. Hi Niklas! many thanks for your praise words. I´m learning a lot and really enjoying with this build, although sometimes is boring when you have to do the sane thing four times, but I hope the end result would worth the effort. About your offering on the pics of the open hatch
  11. You are doing again, friend. Great progress. That cockpit look nice even at this stage. keep this good work Cheers Juan
  12. Thanks Aigore! I´m working these days on filling and sanding to joint of the wings to the fuselage on that kits but I hope to have a new update for the next monday. Cheers. Juan
  13. hi Laz! many thanks for yoyr words. Viggen is also one of my fovourite aircrafts, alghtough I have not been fortunate to see it flying. Thnaks again and keep your good work. Juan
  14. Hi Laz! Great work with that Dragon! I specially like the scractch and painting on the interior. Did you say that you lacked skills?. That not true. keep that good work. Cheers. Juan.
  15. Hi again! I,m here with new pics of my progres. With all the work done on the fuselages I I proceeded to paint the interior of the rear end of them, i.e. the interior of the thrust reverser area. So I primed the area with MrSurfacer and painted it on Alclad white aluminium. Once dry I aplied several washes with artist´s oils on black and burnt siena. I am very happy with the end result that brings out the quality of the resin part from Drpepper´s. Excelent work sirs, the part is a real gem! In this pic you can see the upper petal of the thrust reverser sistem, that falls down
  16. Hi Aigore! You are a true fanatic, Just finished one kit and you are working on the next. A true modeller. Good luck with this! Im looking forward to see your pregress. Juan
  17. Beautiful work, Janne. And very fast, too. You have acheived a spectacular result with the metal shine and the weathering. keep your great work! Juan
  18. Hi Janne! Many thanks for your observation, I had not noticed this previously. Furthermore, thanks to your comment i,ve checked my refrences and found that those tiny holes are only present on tha JA, and not on the AJ, SF nor SK, so I will fill them ASAP. And since we are talking about little details, I would like to confirm with you, if possible, a couple of things like this. First: This little detail under the nosecone (I guess some kind of antenna) is only present on the JA version and not on all othe versions, isn´t it? Second.: on RAT area there is a door that usually keeps
  19. Hi Janne! Great idea that with the white glue. And you are nearly finishing the kit on a record time (at least for me). In adittion, I like the metal effect that you have achieved on it. Keep that good working, mate. Juan
  20. Hi again! I´m here with a new update. First of all, thanks Janne for your interest and your suggestion on the HUD lens. I,ve tried your method previously, but found it a quite difficult to achieve a good result in this small scale, at least for me. What I use to do is paint the drilled circle on the appropiate colour and then add successive drops of Future or any gloss varnish until form a solid coat to resemble the lens. I,ve been working on the kits during this two weeks but I have not a lot to show, basically because most of the work has been rescribing, riveting and solving s
  21. Hi Janne! You are really a fast mover! Your Mig looks great. Go ahead with it! Cheers P.S. What a beatifull girl you have had, friend, congratulations!
  22. Hi again! Many thanks everybody for your kind words and support. One more week , one more update. On the pevious post I shown the AJ fuselage rescribeed and almost with all its problems fixed, but some more work was still necessary. This is the area were the plastic fuselage joins with the resin thrust reverser area . This is the upper area, just beneath the fin. As shown in the pic there is an ugly hollow that needs some care. I cover it with a piece of thin styrene, as it would not be very visible once the engine installed But this is more visible on the area were the wings are joine
  23. Hi Poseidon! Many thanks for your words. One question, how in hell can you tell that the aircraft from the pic is a JA nad not an AJ? The fusalage pilons, perhaps? About the parts that you are interested: I´ve passed lately all the masters that I´ve created for this project to Max , from Maestro Models, with the intention that he produce these items in resin and markets them with his line, so hopefully they will be available soon. The list of 1/72 items that i´ve passed to him is: -SK modified spine. -SF recce nose with side view plug. -JA upgraded belly cannon.(most detailed and ac
  24. Hi McCoy! Many thanks for your words. About the hours I´ve invested on this project I can only say that I,ve lost count...All started the with only one kit on January 2010, but then I add more kits to the project up to four, the major versions of the Viggen. As an estimate time, I would say that it´s about 700 or most. When I start a long term project like this, I do not care how long it takes, but the end result, and the Viggen for me deserves a good effort to be invested. Greetings Juan
