  1. Always good to see a Soesterberg F-15!!! Nice pic Scott!!
  2. After 1000's of white going yellow, I tried Tamiya white paint. Primed with Humbrol white first and left that to dry fully. When dry after week or more, airbrushed Tamiya white but in several layers as Tamiya does not like to be airbrushed in one session and its white. I mixed Tamiya thinner and paint 1/1 and airbrushed it on first time, waited 30 minutes before the next coat waited again 3rd layer and looking good already, 4th time and it was white! waited few days and than brush painted the tyres of my model with enanmel painted heavy thinned and left it alone and looked back next day and it
  3. I made progress on the next series of weapons. Painted all over white humbrol 34 and after drying time airbrushed the yellow revell 12. Next will be the brown bands for which I use humbrol 119. One missile on this picture remains white and is a AS-37 which will be Green. I am not sure on the bands on the AGM-45 Shrike I can find pics of it, the yellow is alright, but I am not certain on the other colour bands behind and between the vanes of this missile. Much apriciated if someone can help me on that.
  4. From what I have read and seen the underside of the German F-104 was grey but!! It faded very fast that it did turn into shades of aluminum.
  5. I have done the first round of light grey FS 36375 Hu 127 on the AIM-7's. All have been worked on and made cableducts on them each and every missile. After that airbrushed them white, after that brush painted them yellow 12 of Revell and Humbrol 119 and left them for some time. Now I did the missiles of the F-15 found the energy to tape them all up for the grey. Took me several nights to carefully have the tape at the same place. I used 2mm tape to get them all the same size. They are looking fine now, and second round I do them again to be sure its fully covering grey the way they should be.
  6. DIY part 2 White glue dish detergent mixed one on one, and brush it on. Works perfect and removes well after painting has been done.
  7. @Aigore Keep in mind that the cockpit is not a F-111E cockpit. I have seen you have Verlinden office, perhaps there's parts for a E version as well Get the Vark going!
  8. I just started using it, did see a vid of it, and must say that a small brush works the best for me. I let it dry overnight and sand it down. As it is shrinking pretty much I keep adding surfacer after the first coat is dry. It sands pretty good, so I keep using this material. works fine in wheelbays and than one could do the alcohol trick.
  9. I tried Tamiya brushpainting with white. I have read somewhere the trick is to have the paint added to the part and not to paint over it again if it does not cover. So one go and let dry, and do it again. And thin the paint Tamiya with tamiya thinner.
  10. To help other out I post this Mk.82 83 84 Bombs in General US made can be painted Humbrol 155 and the yellow band on the nose should be painted just behind the top of the bomb if there is no fuse! fuse is aluminum, en immediately after the fuse the yellow band starts. Take the bomb, and paint it Humbrol 155, and THIN the paint. let it dry fully more than 24 hours. Than you may paint the aluminum of the fuse if there is one. Paint the whole body of the bomb yellow and do it twice. This makes that the yellow is yellow as it doesnt cover the first time. Let it dry again, and than paint the bod
  11. Thanks Joe, Lance and Check Six! Joe Thanks for pointing it out. i did a search on the AGM-84 and they are indeed harpoons. I painted those in the light grey FS 36375 most modern bombs and missies are painted that way. Furher more i have on the line the AIM-9 sidewinders while i have the paint in the jar these follow soon too. I hope to post pics soon on where l am now.
  12. Always welcome with comments! I just resumedposting furher on this topic. I am about ready to paint the sparrows. All are taped up for the yellow and brown bands. I halted after the yellow and brown to give way for other things. So now I can resumé from exactly the stage where i left it.
