  1. amazing, realy love it, you made every detail to a perfect standard!
  2. if the variant has been produced by Hasegawa I would go for that one, the easiest to build and quite accurate, second best is Mauve/Eduard, then the others...
  3. thank you all, building article should come in SAMI soon
  4. never had problems with Tamiya or Mr. Colour white, I use Mr. Thinner to thin both, in 20 years the white is still white!
  5. no putty, just a little bit of Surfacer 500 on the joint line of the fuselage.
  6. a magnificent kit made with no putty, it comes with Cartograf decals and can be made out of the box, I choose to add pilot and fuel tanks also by Pilot-Replicas but made in resin, rest of the kit is in plastic.
  7. Hi all, @ Niels: yes, those configurations are both good but wingtip mounted AIM-9L were also used by gray ASA for a few years. @ Andre, yes, the book will be in English language only with around 150 photos, still not sre if we will be able to add profiles or not. I forgot to mention the ASA-M variant. Only 49 single seaters were upgraded to this latest variant and all were pure interceptors without the gun. The could carry both Aspide and Lima but the Aspide was retired from service by early 2000 since it was found to actually have almost the same range as the Lima due to the fact that t

  9. Let's make some order here. F-104S were build in two variants: the CIO with missiles and no gun and the CBO with gun and no missiles but bombs only. The S could carry only two kind of Missiles: AIM-7F Sparrow (only on BL105 external pylons) and AIM-9B, only in the last year of service, that was 1989 a few were given AIM-9L instead. Standard configuration was 1 Sparrow and 1 Sidewinder and that was used for QRA service. To intercept strategic bombers or MiG-25 configuration was 2 Sparrows at BL105 and 2 Fuel tanks at wing tips War configuration was with 4 missiles: 2 Sidewinder at wingtips
  10. Tamiya Accent panel lines paints work very well over Future.
  11. What I read is that on second tour they were mainly used as bomber, that was the reason for RWR antenas ad on, so no Sidewinders on belly but bombs on BL75.
  12. No mystery for the FREMS MB339: at the time of release panel lines were made with a tool moved by a man and it was much easier for him to work on the almost flat wings than on curved surfaces of the wings. Now FREMS (that is still alive) has a much better technology and uses laser guided by computers and handled by robots to make panel lines and rivets so we can expect much better kits in the future. Mind FREMS is the world leader in producing crystal clear plastics and the canopy of 339 is a good example of their mastery. One reason we can't have new kits from FREMS right now is that Italer
  13. Gripen tanks are same as used by Danish AF F-35 Drakens so you may ask if someone bought the Hasegawa kit of S35E/RF-35 here below choosing the Swedish colour scheme instead of the Danish one http://www.model-making.eu/zdjecia/7/1/1/1539_rd.jpg Meanwhile I will also check my stash of spare parts.
  14. I didn't try them yet but from what I can see from their Facebook page most looks spot on but the dark green that is too much similar to a pine green while it was darker GSI Creos (Gunze) 340, 310, 309, 77 and 308 are also spot on
  15. mind Black base is needed only for Chrome and Polished Aluminium, for the rest of the shades light gray or even white works much better.
  16. need to check for SP but here in Italy Have Glass was used over all fuel tanks and pylons, only missiles rails and radome were excluded
  17. Size is perfect for Hasegawa, gray on stencils slightly different from those in Hasegawa kit, but since you have none this should not be a problem, you will need to paint some panels that Hasegawa gives as decals but Bob didn't.
  18. Devo, Jeff and Andrew: thank you all for the comments!
  19. thank you all for the kind comments you deserve another photo!
  20. thanks Niki, my canopy has some black dots buried inside the sliding clear part, I was unable to remove them and a replacement will come from Kinetic soon.
  21. my latest is the Kinetic rendering of the Mirage IIIE (O here). Not and easy kit but still the best available of this variant. I'm waiting for a replacement canopy and a Master Pitot for it, the rest is out of the box with just a resin seat. Ventral pylon come from ESCI kit (with many thanks to Lothar for the donation ) while Matra 530 K come from Hasegawa F-8P kit. Most of the decals are from Mission Marks of Moscow. Thanks for looking. Paolo
