  1. Yes for the AIM-120, sometimes for the Sparrow. I think all A model could carry AIM-120. For the Sparrow they needed the CW antennas that for F-16 was buried inside the pylons, only Egypt, Singapore and ADF got those modified pylons for Sparrows. When ADF were re-sold to Italy, Thailand and Jordan the Sparrow pylons were no longer needed and standard pylons were sold instead.
  2. Hi Danny, I appreciate your comment but: this was a CBO-bomber variant so it was going to have the gun and the ejection mechanism for shells as well the ammunition box. Problem is in the photos I found this 104 to have the gun nozzle Covered. The mistery is solved when you consider that the Vulcan gun was cleared for use in Italy only in 1968 while the photo is from 1965. So I think the CBO variant was not modified with the additional fuel tank since it was going to the get the gun. In Italy only recce and fighter variants (both without the gun) had the fuel tank instead. Everything wil
  3. I choose to add the avionic bay by DACO and also the B43 even if the nuclear role was not yet assigned to italian 104s at that time, but they were training for it Since there a no Italian markings for this early Starfighters I printed Wing markings and fuselage numbers by myself while the stencils come from the truly excellent decals sheet by Eduard-
  4. I like Hasegawa F-16 more than Revell one, the latter looks a bit too much fllat on the spine and the tinted canopy has a strange hue. But is true that Hasegawa offering is very old, only a few parts like ADF tail and AMRAAM missiles has been recently retooled. That said if you add: 1- Master Pitot and reshape a bit the nose cone, 2- Aires exhaust 3- resin fuel tanks 4- resin seat in my opinion you can build a state of the art 72 scale F-16 till Block 25, for newer variants go for Tamiya!
  5. Hi, I started from Tamiya Ocean gray and Olive Drab and modify shades a bit to match photos.
  6. I spry directly on Eduard resin Tamiya or Gunze paint without any trouble...
  7. Correct Anthony I made a lizard A-4K around 14 years ago! Your memory is better than the one of an elefant!
  8. in this kit shapes are good but fitting of most part is poor. It looks like a scaled up tool from the Kinetic 1/48 scale one with some modifications made for the C variant quite evident on the fuselage surface. Aden 30mm guns and their guards were scratchbuilt with brass tube sections Decals in the kit come with a too dark blue shade for the French roundel so I masked mine and repainted with faded blue, musquettaire on the tail was also repainted freehand with Vallejo Acrylics. Some part in the kit are for the III E version only so watch your references instead of instructions: change the IP
  9. thanks, TER come from Kinetic F-16 kit while practice bombs come from DACO 104 set.
  10. Thanks flacon20driver, I use Future as clear coat, but mind I use to thinner both Gunze and Tamiya paints with Tamiya Laquer thinner, Future can crack if sprayed over those paints when these has been thinned with X-20 acrylic thinner.
  11. I don't think these are oversized, especially for the Eghties. Now several banners, but not all, are smaller to better stand the wind. Some are just cut from the original size, some are just produced smaller. It is all a matter of references.
  12. Thanks you all again! @ Tobik: Gekko decals are much, much better then Hasegawa ones, still available from the Producer: http://studiogekko.blogspot.it/p/gekko-graphics-decals.html
  13. Thank you all for the kind comments, @ Petarvu: Gekko decals are perfectly printed but a little thick for today standard (mind these were printed 15 years ago...).
  14. Thanks both! Yes Antoine, I mean with 101°Gruppo. There was no real use for RF-104G since the RF-84F had much better cameras so our RF served in bomber and interceptor Squadron for 5 years waititng for the Orpheous pod, then went back to their original role but with a much better recce equipment. Two of them actually served as prototypes for the S variant.
  15. this is the rarest of all Italian 104 variants, only 19 were built and served with 101°Gruppo for just one year winning the Lockheed Trophy for safety in 1965! at that time the camouflage was glossy, RESCUE stencils in yellow instead of orange and in English language only, no spyrale was paintent on the Pitot tube, bang seat was still the C-2 since there are no decals for these rare birds I made myself those for the white Diana, serial numbers (M.M.) and fuselage numbers, the rest of the markings come from 3 different Tauro decals sheets.
  16. correct, it is unpainted steel that goes dark since it is used to war air
