  1. Does anyone know if it's possible to register for the convention at the show (other than just general admission)? I have pre-registered online in the past, but didn't do this this year. Thanks, Brent
  2. Hi Steve, Sounds like a fine idea. Should I bring a Hawaiian shirt? I seem to recall something to that effect from post discussions. Brent Central Alberta Wagontrain Expedition Co-chairman "Ohio or bust"
  3. I was wondering what the specific membership requirement was for entry in the Nats. Their website says "you must be a member in good standing of the International Plastic Modelers' Society". Does this mean IPMS USA? I'm from Canada and have a local chapter membership - will this be adequate? I thought perhaps some of you with previous experience might know. Thanks, Brent
  4. Hi Mike, Good point about going to Dayton before the show in terms of energy level. I was at the UK Nats once, and by the end of that show we were absolutely done in.
  5. We're heading down from Edmonton, AB Canada this year and it will be our first trip to a US Nats. I have to say that the apparent lack of posts in this area has me concerned - it's a bit underwhelming  Nevertheless we are very excited about attending and look forward to a great show. I have a question though: for those who are going to visit the Dayton museum - are you planning to go before the Nats or after.
  6. After a fairly thorough web search and look through my references (Squadron W/A and In Action)I have not been able to find any good photos or drawings of the 20mm cannon bays for the Skyraider. Can anyone suggest a source or provide a photo/drawing? I'm interested in trying to detail this area on Tamiya's 1/48 scale kit. Thanks, Brent
  7. It's parchment paper (aka, baking paper). You can buy it at the grocery store in rolls just like the ones that wax paper, saran wrap or tin foil come in. It's meant for use in the oven, so it handles the heat from photo-floods without any problem, although it does yellow a bit after several uses. I'm not saying it's fire-proof, but I've found it adequate as a temperature resistant diffuser for standard photo-flood lamps. I just folded the edges over and fixed the corners with paper clips.
  8. I've always enjoyed this thread and have been meaning to post for some time. Renovations are planned for the spring/summer so it'll look different in a few months. Anyways, here's my cave:
