  1. Hi Brad, Very nice so far, the perfect paintjob together with the colourful markings make it look really interesting. Be a tourguide more often! Jochem
  2. Hi Stan, Thanks again for your explaination. I just (re)wired the basic controls (stripped down an old casetteplayer). In the picture the green wire completes the circle together with the red wire when i push PLAY (or FF). I'll go ahead and start building the model now. As i understand, i think i need to use the regular series method. I'll update soon.
  3. Hi Stan > 1. Thank you very much for taking the time to put down your thoughts. Indeed Brett pointed out already that the rear prop is contra-rotating. I checked it on youtube and found some genuine Do-335 film that shows the props starting up. > 2. Yes i was thinking of funneling the air, "compressing" it from 30mm to like 5mm or so using tube. > 1. 2. 3. 4. I would need to test the entire setup to ensure the fans are powerful enough > 5. I have two of those cellphone motors....i think i'd better start using those eh? > 6. The fans would be pretty quiet, if they are n
  4. Hey guys After finishing my motorized Hellcat in 1/48 i went through my unbuild kits and took the Do-335 out. Wouldn't it be nice to motorize two props? Well here's my idea, i found a wind-powered example on a German language site. http://www.modellversium.de/tipps/artikel.php?id=90 I gather that one fan on each site of the model will ensure enough airspeed so that the two props will turn at around the same speed, so i made the following plan: The model will be on a pole. Hope to show some progress soon, in the meantime please let me know if you have any tips. Groeten, Jochem
  5. Thanks everyone, here are some more shots including one of the inner workings. I maintained the buttonmechanism and wired it direcly to the batteries after scrapping the circuit board. (motor next to the piece of toiletpaper is positioned into the nose of the model) (first motor, later replaced with the motor out of the cassetteplayer) (wiring all through the fuselage, the hollow lollypop stick was later replaced with a metal ink cartridge from a ballpoint pen) (the pre-shade in white seems to attract alot of attention...it works fine though) groeten Jochem
  6. Hey guys Here's a project that kept me involved for some time. Halfway through the build i decided to motorize this kitty. It took some tinkering but i finally used an old cassetteplayer to drive the prop and also to start and stop. It was fun just to go around with a soldering iron but it did scare me when i wired the motor in a way that the fast-forward button made it go mad :D After catching the model again i simplified the inner workings of the player, now it just runs with a single speed. This was my first time adding a motor and i plan on doing another similar project. The base is mos
  7. Nice work, really enjoyed watching this one coming along because i did the eolder and more basic Revell Intruder myself recently (as you perhaps remember). Still thinking of buyinig one of these more recent kits. Very good job on getting it to look a bit dirty, i like it! Jochem
  8. Liked this GB alot, and i've got a really nice gallery on the DotR website to look through in the future! Thanks Mods! Jochem
  9. Hi Jes, Nice work on the many subjects you have posted. I am wondering though how you work. Do you have an entire row of model you work on all at once? I think i like his entry the best of all you have posted , it stands out from all of the fighters in this GB. Jochem
  10. i think someone just tipped the scale even more :-)
  11. Thanks guys, thanks for responding so quickly. Should have just blown at it in the first place :-) Jochem
  12. btw, i know i can change the facing of the battery to change the direction of spinning but it does matter for the actual battery bracket
  13. Hey guys I am motorizing my 1/48 Hellcat and i have a motor that goes clockwise when you look at it from the front, is that the correct direction as for the real thing? I have searched for clips of the real aircraft but its hard to see which direction on the ones i found. Thanks in advance Jochem
  14. Hi David Thanks for posting all these pics, gives a very good idea of all the details that normally won't show on a few overall pics. One thing though, what's that sort of wood grain effect on the inside of the landing flaps? Jochem
  15. Again stunning model, as with Docs me-262 its ridiculous how you guys get these results within such a small amount of time.
