Stateside A-10's and AN/ALQ-184 pods
strikeeagle801 replied to strikeeagle801's topic in Jet Modeling
Long or Short Jake? And have they carried two GBU-31's at the same time, or only one? Aaron -
Doing research and getting everything together for a 1/48 A-10. I'm going to be using the Idaho National Guard option on Jake's War Weary Warthogs, and although I don't think they carried either the AIM-9M's or ECM pods during their last deployment, I am wanting to show it fully loaded. I think I read that the -184 was used mostly by Stateside Hawgs, whereas the over-seas units use the -131. My question is, is it more common for the A-10 to use the short or the long pod? Or does it matter? I've got a long pod from the Tamiya F-16, but Brassin has a great-looking short pod. Thank's

what about 1/48 Hasegawa F-16 intakes and exhausts
strikeeagle801 replied to ghatherly's topic in GT Resin Products Products
Any estimate on when the Tamiya intakes will be released? Aaron -
Does anyone make a 1/48 LAU-131 rocket pod for the A-10?
strikeeagle801 replied to strikeeagle801's topic in Jet Modeling
Ideally, two. But I've seen several shots of Inherent Resolve A-10's loaded with only one. If you can help out, I'd be most grateful. Feel free to drop me a PM with what you would like in return. Thank you. Aaron -

Okay. So, I'll look for Attack Squadron (thank's for the link Mstor) LAU-131's, or a LAU-68. Thank you guys for the help. Aaron -
Great looking Cobra! And "my" decals (I was the one who took the reference pictures for that scheme) look good on it. Aaron http://www.airfighters.com/photo/144116/L/USA-Marines/Bell-AH-1Z-Viper/168800/

1/48 best Apache and Longbow Apache & WAH-64
strikeeagle801 replied to marcinko's topic in Helicopter Modeling
It is the Academy kit. Aaron -
I've got a sealed AMT/ERTL USS Enterprise First Contact kit I'd like to sell. The box is not in the greatest shape, but contents are sealed. I'm asking 65.00 shipped to CONUS for it. I will also include a Monogram USS Voyager kit as well. The box is in really rough shape, the decals look like they will shatter if you look at them funny, and some of the clear parts appear to be missing, but is otherwise complete. I don't have any interest in these kits, so someone might as well get some use out of them. I will take offers if you think the price is too high, and if you don't want the other kit,

Operation Gothic Serpent Aircraft references
strikeeagle801 replied to hawkwrench's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Are you sure about Thrasher Tim? According the 4th Batt Hawk drivers I saw, she was damaged during the Gothic Serpent operation. Here she is in Yakima a few years ago. Aaron http://www.airfighters.com/photo/113945/M/USA-Army/Sikorsky-MH-60L-Blackhawk/91-26360/ -
Yes. Here's a load-out from Operation Southern Watch. http://www.f-15e.info/joomla/en/weapons/loadout-configurations/127-southern-watch They can carry up to four AIM-7's or AIM-120's on the lower CFT pylons. The F-15E is not usually assigned to a CAP roll (that's what the A/B/C/D is for) but it CAN perform the mission. The CFT's take very little from the F-15E's operational envelope. Aaron

Specific kits you sold and bought back later?
strikeeagle801 replied to TaiidanTomcat's topic in General Discussion
Too many to list. But, off the top of head, Italeri/AMT B-52's and KC-135's, Revell A-6E, Tamiya 1/32 F-16's. -
Hurry it up already. I'm not building my two -60's till it is done. BTW, do the rotor mast as well. That thing is a pain in the butt to get the seams out of without ruining the part! Aaron

Does the Apache and Black Hawk use the same wheels?

That would be great. I really need a set for a memorial build I am doing for a friend who was KIA in Afghanistan. Aaron -
Any interest in a 160th SOAR reference CD?
strikeeagle801 replied to strikeeagle801's topic in Helicopter Modeling
No CD pics either Tim. If the 160th is uncomfortable with photos out there that THEY authorized in the first place, I am not comfortable distributing photos that they may not have had, or doing this project on my own. Floyd and Aaron may feel different about theirs, but this is the way I feel about my photos. I would just say that this is the end of the project. Period. Aaron -
I want one. And, after seeing a few here for Exercise Mobility Guardian, an A-400 to put next to it. Aaron

I've never built the Academy kit. The new weapons and decals make the kit worth the cost, but honestly, the Academy kit has a lot of issues with it. Revell is the way to go with the F-15E, and can be a pretty simple, straight-forward build. My suggestion is to buy a Revell kit at 40% off from Micheal's or Hobby Lobby, and use the decals, weapons and pylons from the Academy kit to update the Revell kit. Barring that though, I really have no hints on the Academy kit. I'm sure someone on here does though. Aaron ps. If you go the Revell route, this will help
