I picked up a set of these from Hobby Lobby today, and I want to give them a try, but I've never used them. Looking for tips and tricks with them. Do they come pre-thinned for airbrushing? If not, what do you thin them with? I've got Tamiya x20 thinner and rubbing alcohol on-hand. A good PSI to spray them at? Any help is appreciated. Thank's guys n gals. Aaron

Thank you for the update. Then I stand corrected. Aaron

Yes. Those are extra chaff/flare dispensers. I don't believe they are on any other version of the F-15 so far. Aaron

Is Mr Color a lacquer then? Aaron

What do you thin Mr. Color paint with? I'm working on an F-15 as well, and am looking for an alternate to Model Master. Aaron

I remember seeing the preview for Pearl Harbor in the theaters, just before I left to serve my two-year LDS mission. I was SO EXCITED to see it, and SO BUMMED when I found out it came out like a month after I left. When I got home, it was one of the first movies I watched. I remember thinking...I waited TWO YEARS...FOR THIS??? Aaron

I second that, many, many times over. Twice as nice to meet in person, which I have had the privilege several times, and hope to have several more. Aaron

Where are you guys finding these on E-bay? I looked the other day and could not find any. I'm looking for the ones for the Revell/GWH kit without the burner tubes. Aaron

I have both the Revell P-51D-5NA Early version and the Me-262 B-1/U-1 Night Fighter for sale. Both are NIOB with all parts accounted for. Both also include Eduard canopy/wheel hub masks and Brassin wheels. I'm asking $40.00 plus shipping for each kit. PayPal preferred, but not required. PM me if interested. Aaron

Does anyone know if there is/will be a US distributor? I'd love to get a couple of sets myself. The DO see quite expensive though. Aaron

Does anyone have a partial sheet they can give me the Vermont section from? The only part I absolutely need is the "The Green Mountain Boys" slogan that goes on the vertical tail. I got one on just fine, but screwed up on the other. Right now, it just says "Green Mountain Boys" on one side, and I'd like to fix it. I could try to paint it on, or even try to match the font and print my own (or even just leave it that way) but I'd rather try to get the decal first. This is the first kit I've tried to complete in about 10 years, and I'm trying to do my best on it. If anyone can help, I'd really, r

Hello all It's been a LONG time since I've actually finished a model, and I've got a question here. I've working on getting my decals on my bombs and missiles, and am looking towards attaching them onto the finished model when I get there. The thing is, I can't remember what I've done in the past to attach them onto the rails and racks. I know I don't want to use regular model glue, as it won't stick to the paint (or if it will, it'll mar it) so, what else can I use? Super glue? I'll take any suggestions I can get. Thank's Aaron

Hello all I'm looking for the control stick from the 1/48 Tamiya F-16C kit.I'm hoping someone has one left over from when they used an A/M cockpit set. My stick broke off of the sprue, I taped it to a "safe" place, and promptly lost it. I have an extra for this project from another kit, but need to find a replacement for that one. Thank's for the help. Glad to pay postage or trade a weapon or two. Aaron

Best replacement for an F-15 is... an F-15

Then bring in more F-16 Block 70's then. But I don't see that happening either. Honestly, as much as I would LOVE to see more F-15's built, I agree with you. I don't think new F-15's are going to happen. OR F-16's for that matter. Or new F-22's as some have suggested elsewhere. I think that we've put all our eggs in the F-35 basket. Aaron -

Based on the same setup on stations 1/9 as 2/8, I get 24...which is a helluva lot of missiles! I have long stated the USAF needs to build more F-15's. I hope they go with this program. I don't know why they would go with single seaters though...They have not built an F-15C since the early 2000's (I think?) and I'm not sure the tooling is still around. I would think since they are still turning out F-15SA's, it would be easier to just build two-seaters. And, an WSO would never hurt with situational awareness, and would allow for multi-mission capability to be kept. Aaron -
Older/Oldest Boxing or New/Newer Boxing?
strikeeagle801 replied to Don's topic in General Discussion
One example I can think of where older is better is the Revell F-15E. If you can find the older boxings (like the ProModeller) go for them. The older boxings were molded in Korea, and were of a lot better quality. The newer boxings are molded in China, are of a different, more brittle plastic, and are showing their age. Aaron -
The set looks good, but I'm still waiting for them to release the MH-60M conversion set we gave them references for. It's looking like by the time they do that, the new MH-60L will be out, and if we are lucky, KH may come out with a Mike as well. Aaron

Yeah, I hope they do the SG at some point as well. My hope as some point is to do EVERY version of the Strike. But, that is a lot of time, effort, and money, so I'm not sure it will ever happen. Aaron
