  1. So no, one definitely does not have anything to do with the other.
  2. Hey guys. I'm wondering what color I should paint the inside of the exhaust cans on a Tamiya F-14A. The pictures I see are kind of inconclusive as to they should be tan or white. Any better pics/advice? Aaron
  3. HobbyEasy just charged my credit card. Does that mean we are close? Aaron
  4. I talked to their Facebook rep, and he basically confirmed that. There is NO Customer Service at this time. He said that it is too expensive to ship small packages to the States (he said the States specifically, not sure if this would apply elsewhere) and that it was unlikely to change any time soon. I stated that it did not sound like a good business model to not support your product, to which he said there was a huge language gap, that they were Chinese, and it was what it was. Aaron
  5. Not that I know of. That is my plan when I get there. I have dry-fit the CFT's to the GWH fuselage, and they seem to be close enough to work.
  6. Here's a shot of Paul Allan's that he flies (well, his pilots fly anyway) out of Paine Field in Everett. Wouldn't be hard to put those decals together. Aaron http://www.airfighters.com/photo/122605/M/Private-Historic-Flight-Foundation/Mikoyan-Gurevich-MiG-29UB-9-51/N29UB/
  7. Thank's guys. I'll probably drop a few in just in case. Aaron
  8. Hello all I'm wondering if you need any nose weight for the Tamiya F-14. I'm adding resin exhaust nozzles, so I'm guessing so, but wanted to confirm. Thank's Aaron
  9. Yes. They are both in the box. I think the Revell CFT's are better than the Academy ones...Better shape, and the CFT pylons have locating pins on them to allow a more positive join...The Academy ones (again, also included in the D-Corporation kit) have a butt joint for the stub pylons, which leaves a bit of ambiguity as to where they are placed, and don't make the join as strong. The Revell CFT's are more accurate in shape too. So, to really get the best F-15E, I think you need all three kits. The GWH provides the basic airframe, the Revell kit provides the CFT's and the exhaust c
  10. Correct. And the South Koreans bought two batches of F-15K. The second batch had F-100-PW-229's like our Echo's do. Both style exhausts are included in the D-Corporation F-15K boxing, however, I tend to like the Revell cans better. One of the few (in my opinion) weak points of the GWH kits. Aaron
  11. No, sorry I didn't explain it well. All six of the stub pylons on the F-15K are longer than the F-15E's. When you see the two side to side, you'll be able to see the difference. I would suggest Google F-15K and you'll probably be able to get some decent pics. BTW, I'm not sure why exactly they were lengthened. It may be to increase load-bearing capacity on those pylons?
  12. You can look into the GWH kit as was suggested. The D-Corporation F-15K (you can find it on EBay) has the GWH airframe and the weapons from the Academy F-15K kit. It has everything you need to make a modern F-15E, including LAU-128's, the GPS dome molded in, and modern weapons. Just use the non-extended CFT stub pylons and find decals. The GWH kit actually trumps the Revell kit. It is more expensive than the Revell though.
  13. Revell is considerably better than the Academy kit in just about every aspect. The CFT's are better, cockpit is better, afterburner cans/exhausts are better, the list goes on. The two things that the newer Academy kits have over the Revell kit is weapons (the fact that it actually HAS weapons, and they are modern) and decals. The decals are Cartograf-printed, so they are good, and it comes with a decent amount of weapons in it. If you can find a good deal on the Academy kit, get it, and use the weapons and decals on a Revell kit. By the time you found good decals and weapons for the Revell kit
  14. Just received my 1/48 GWH F-15K from Bob today. Deal with confidence people! Aaron
  15. Kind of mis-leading. If you look at that link, it does not show weapons in the pictures, but mentions them in the description. Another drop tank × 3, AIM-120C, AIM-9M, comes with each missile AIM-9X- F100PW-220 engine × with 2 groups detachable- 1 aircraft entering Anyway, I went ahead and took the advice given above, and contacted the GWH rep through Facebook. He said that they don't support parts replacement at this time, as it is very expensive to ship small packages to the States from China. However, he had one in his collection, and is building it as an early F-15A with AIM-
  16. No, I didn't. Frankly, you can find different prices for the same things all across the internet...Right? So no, I did not find it odd. I know that Hasegawa does not put weapons in their modern releases, but having done my research on the regular boxings of GWH kits, all had weapons, and none had any indication that the "special" releases had anything more or less in them, other than the different decals. I could not find a single review on the OR ANG 75th anniversary boxing that would tell me any different. Aaron
  17. The boxing that I picked up was right around 75 dollars. I bought it on E-bay, but looked around a bit on Lucky Model and a few other sites...All were about the same price for the 75th boxing. The "regular" boxing was 109 on E-bay. Aside from the decals, I thought the plastic would be the same, which is why I bought that one...It was cheaper, and I'm using A/M decals anyway. But, now I feel a little "cheated" I guess, as I now have to source the weapons from somewhere else, which means either A) more money for aftermarket, or B) pulling them from other kits, which means I have to find MORE wea
  18. Well, yeah, I can use weapons from other kits. That isn't a problem. But the 'regular' ANG kit comes with the missiles I stated in the OP. So the molds are already cut. And the kit was not exactly cheap. So, I kind of expected them to be in there, and just wanted to check and see if my kit had been missed somehow. Aaron
  19. Hi all I just bought this kit on E-bay, and opened it up to find that it does not have any missiles. Is this normal? I thought there were supposed to be two AIM-120B's, two AIM-120C's and two AIM-9X included. Any thought on this, and if it does not include them, is there a way to get a hold of GWH to request the parts? Aaron
  20. The Italeri A-10 has a few. Also, Attack Squadron made a set of LAU-131's. They are out of production now, but you can find them on E-bay on occasion. Aaron
  21. Bump. Still looking for a set. Will gladly pay a good price for them. Aaron
  22. I just placed a pre-order with HobbyEasy. I have a Tamiya F-14A too, but figured what the heck. Aaron
  23. Title says it all. If you have an extra one lying around, could you please contact me, and we can discuss a price or a trade. Don't have a preference as to which sheet. Thank's Aaron
  24. Thank's for the help Jake and all. I appreciate it. By the time that I get this project rolling, Eduard my very well have a long 184 out. I'm not sure what all I'm going to load on it...Kind of want to do a full load with ECM and AIM-9's. We'll see when I get there. Aaron
