  1. You can find it in ebay. It cost $120 USD.
  2. That's some great news.. even though I ordered items from LuckyModel deliver locally to Hong Kong ;)
  3. Good thing I bought mine from Hong Kong local hobby shop (Universal Models) for $398 HKD, which is around $51.30 USD. Heh Heh.
  4. In additon, when the aircraft is on the ground, does the Mig-23ML tilt more upwards than the MLD?
  5. Dear all, May I know is there any difference in size and shape of the nose between the Mig-23ML and the Mig-23MLD? Are both types using the same radar? All I know is for the Mig-23MLD, there are changes in the leading edge section using a curvature shape and then the addition of the IR sensor at the bottom front of the fuselage. Thanks all, Jeffrey
  6. Well I bought the F-22 hasegawa kit without going back to the academy. The stuff I will try is to apply Mr. surfacer 1000, then use sand paper 800, 1000, 2000 and mesh 3000. I am not going to re-scribe the kit or kit bash as this will take too much of my time.
  7. Too bad, I already order two boxes of RVResign Mig-23ML due to release in Q4. Now if Trumpeter comes up with a Mig-23MLD, that will get my attention.
  8. Well, it's in hobbyeasy.com now, release date is April 9th, for a mere $605 HKD.
  9. Well, I hope the only thing Trumpeter has to fix is to completely redo the mold for the engine, which appears too deep. Hopefully, they don't have to re-do the main fuselage (or re-do the entire kit).
  10. Not true. In China, you can still purchase stuff online, such as modeling books, and they only block a few sites.
  11. Hi Don, I haven't sold my Streem Su-24. I think it's going to collect dust for certain time. I paid a quite heavy price on it in ebay auction (more than $60 EXCLUDING shipment) . With the 1:48 trumpeter coming out, I may opt for that since the Streem is really a difficult kit to assemble, and with new job on hand I really have nil modeling time. Now, what to do with my Streem Su-24? I don't know. I may donate it to someone else who has the skills to make the most out of it.... maybe some of the modeling wizards in ARC
  12. Dear Mr. Song, My wish list is to shrink the trumpeter 1:72 Tu-22M3 to 1:144 Tu-22M3, just like what you did with the georgeous 1:144 Tu-160 blackjack. I will buy it same price if it shrinks to 1:144 Tu-22M3. I think 1:144 is the standard scale on larger than figher size jets, so I have a collection of bombers and airliners (tu-154m) together. Thanks, Jeffrey
  13. Well, the above pictures pretty sums up why it looks fat and sits low when looking at the side profile of the kit. It would be more helpful if we have more pictures looking at the side of the kit.
  14. Manufacturers in general (not sure about manufacturers of scale models) used only one mold due to cost concern. The mold uses special steel (not remember any longer about the specific type of steel) and not aluminium. I think the mold needs to withstand temperature of over 220 Celsius. Additional information (very general stuff): When you have a CAD drawing, it will be read by a CAM software such as MasterCAM to provide drilling instructions on the mold. (I think the CAM software also provides a simulation on the specific steps to drill on the mold if the shape of the product is very comp
  15. So, to the above, it's not a great difference from the correct dimensions, just the photo is playing tricks to us. So my apology to Trumpeter for criticize the kit too early, I will leave my judgement when the kit comes out. And, good job for Trumpeter for making subjects that are not the most popular for the general audience. Anyways, most modellers can live with few millimeters discrepancy from the correct dimensions, especially this model is of 1:32 size. I hope they posted another side profile with minimum lens distortion.
  16. To the above. I think by just looking at the pics especially the side profile, it appears the SU-25 is too short and obviously, it seats way too low. The front wheels almost touches the bottom fuselage, and the rear gear door bay almost touches the ground! I don't know, I like the rivet details and easy of built of Trumpeter kits...They could have just bought the kopro kits su-25 for reference. By the way, I am not going for any accuracy at all, just the overall shape, as I am in between casual and serious modeller. I am interested and will buy their su-24 which has some minor errors on t
  17. Maybe we can have the kit dimensions? If it's the problem with the photo, then I must apologize.
  18. How long has the 1/32 A-10 been in the market? Is your figures annually or from all years?
  19. I admire kit manufacturers such as Trumpeter who produce subjects that do not have a big market share (Actually all plastic kit manufacturers deserve a praise as not too many people around the world assemble models now), and the cost of producing big 1:32 subjects are quiet risky consider cost of the mold, and the amount of plastics it used (the material cost has been going up since even though we are in a recession) and the packaging materials. Also, for those people who complain about the price of Trumpeter kits, there is a labour shortage in southern provinces in China and combine with mat
  20. Just purchase 2 pcs of their Mig-23ML in modelimex.
  21. Dear all, Good news. The 1:72 mig-23 kit from RV-Resin will be released in August 2010, reads in their website. http://www.rvresin.com/Plastic_kits.html
  22. Well, I must ask my family who also engaged in manfacturing business to see if they have spare time to ask an engineer to come up with a mini mold that creates a plastic piece with fine engravings to correct the length of the kit. And yes, we were heavily invested in molding machines with large tonnage and use of CAD (solidworks) /CAM technology to create products that you buy in "major stores" in U.S.
  23. The front fuselage looks slightly off but not a major off. It's just the windshield that's fat, but the entire shape of the aircraft still looks shape-wise acceptable. By the way, what happens to RV-Resin with their "upcoming" 1:72 Mig-23?
  24. Just to add, I think the product line of Trumpeter is expanding too rapidly... Does this sound something familiar of what you heard in financial news? :)
  25. If you are familiar with the Su-25 and built a Su-25 model (1:48 kopro or 1:72 zvezda, revell), you will immediately know the aircraft is too "fat" and it sits too low.
