  1. Excellent to see you back! I’m going to try the lacquer “priming” next time!
  2. I think YouTube has had an effect on traffic. I first came to the site and forum to understand techniques and I learned a lot. But YouTube allows the technique to be demonstrated in action. That is a huge difference of course creating the video is many times more difficult and time consuming than posting a few pictures.

  4. Pass. I don’t miss the political commentary at all.
  5. I have to laugh. I finished my 1/700 Arizona identically to the one you are showing above. When I entered it in the Ajax contest I overheard one gentleman (using the term generously) tell all who passed by that the paint finish was “all wrong” and so on and so on. Rude but he seemed to be enjoying his pseudo expertise - probably his only enjoyment for a long time - so I just walked away. The actual experts cant agree on the final colours.
  6. Excellent! I love that old cowl.... that's the one I am getting. Thanks for this!
  7. Looks very good. Do you think they will bring the earlier variants as well? I am keen on the earlier ones - with that cool 1930s look: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiftfnfhYvdAhUCc98KHfzZCN0QjRx6BAgBEAU&url=http%3A%2F%2Faxis-and-allies-paintworks.com%2Fe107_plugins%2Fforum%2Fforum_viewtopic.php%3F341&psig=AOvVaw2NjWbE1DzlqHalgDevstjf&ust=1535384113367988
  8. My LHS has at least one of these. Try Bill at Www.hobcen.com
  9. I have some! I didn't get all of the models - but definitely the ones that caught my eye. https://imgur.com/a/kRpOwBr
  10. I just got back from Nationals... what a great show. I’m inspired to build an Apache in the ANG colours. I know there was an IPMS sheet done in 2010 that would work well. But I’ll also do any other decal sheet id be willing to buy the sheet Or even just the 1/48 Apache decals from that sheet. Willing to trade this year’s ipms decals as well! Thanks!
  11. The bargain I saw was a box full of the premium ouchi Bradley kit. Each kit was $35. I already built the po boy version a couple years back.
  12. I’d love to have some sort of Corsair item. I figure a prop blade would be stupid expensive. But I’d me up for anything.
  13. Let’s see.... I really think we need some new tool 109s and 190s in 48th. I’m sure there are some sub sub variants that were only produced in the month of May 1944 that are not adequately covered.
  14. Wow!! Love what you are doing!!
  15. I put my money into a crowdsourced project by a known company. They wanted to produce an injection Reno racer in 48th. Unfortunately it didn’t get off the ground. I got my money back. Id certainly love to see a few subjects that are unlikely to be don’t by the big companies. I’d also love for someone to do some conversions (I’d pay a lot for a f4u-3 conversion that was 3d printed) There was a guy in here a few years ago who tried to get a crowdfunded model off the ground but the price/benefit model was off. I think he was only offering a credit to finders. They would a
  16. If it’s anything like the last one, there are a disturbing number of all-male shower scenes to block, light and shoot.
  17. Just an update to the above: the part arrived and all is good!
  18. I've been thinking about it for a while. I think this is not only the best opportunity for me to go - but a great opportunity to do and see a lot of things while I am there. I have been to Phoenix a few times but never in the summer. I am really looking forward to it. Any tips for a first time show-goer?
  19. I ordered from them. It took longer than expected but an order did arrive. Unfortunately it wasn't my order. The issue was quickly cleared up by me taking pictures of the box contents beside the invoice. They sent out the correct part within a couple days. Unfortunately I have yet to receive it but I am very sure its on the way.
  20. No worries Found what I was looking for. Thanks Chris
  21. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun to attend. I hope you can get the full team over there!
