  1. Aloha, I've got one. PM me w/your address and I'll drop it in the mail. ND
  2. Hi, Wondering if the detail set for the ICM TB-3 was still available. Thanks
  3. Aloha, You mentioned Adversaries, but not Allies. I was waiting for this GB to open to start my 1/32 Sea Fury (probably in Aussie markings). Does that fit the rules? ND
  4. 1/48 Classic Airframes Westland Whirlwind
  5. Finito ! Whirlwind is all done. Only left out a couple PE parts that we're simply too tricky to install. Will post a couple more shots in the finished builds thread. Thanks for looking.
  6. Just about finished. All the fiddly bits are on. Just need to add the rigging and it's a wrap.
  7. Aloha John, I live on O‘ahu - just up the hill from the airport and the museum where I work. Brad
  8. @faab - I cannot believe that's 1/72. Great work!
  9. All done. I'll post a few to the finished builds thread as well.
  10. Decals are on and squadron codes painted Light wash of Payne's gray to bring out panel lines a little Here a before and after Only have to add the landing gear, flat coat, and add rigging. The landing gear are white metal and look like they'll be a royal pain...sigh. Kind poor fit and not very obvious how they are to attach to the nacelles.
  11. Found an image of the plane I'm building and noticed a couple differences The white dorsal spine isn't part of the kit, and the spiral red along the pitot tube isn't called out in the painting guide for the kit. Gonna go with the box - ready to finish this guy up. Lots of decals on that plane. Here was one self inflicted tricky one. The red band was a single decal, but like a dummy I made the speed brake such that I had to slice it up into three bits. Came out alright though. Added the fiddly bits Ejector seat is done: And canopies are on: Only the canopy release handl
  12. Had to paint on the squad markings since I'm not using the OOB markings. Couple places to clean up but pretty happy
  13. First few decals are on Quite a few more to go
  14. Tried to subtly post shade. Futured and ready for decals
  15. Did a little darkening along panel lines to bring out some depth - not really weathering as much as shaping: Plane is futured and ready for decals.
  16. Painting is pretty much done - added the Operation Starkey/Dieppe Raid (lots of conflicting sources) stripes. Have some overspray to clean up on the port nacelle/wing and got to make the black underside a bit more solid where the nacelles join, but nothing major.
  17. Painted: Nose two colors of green, and the hatch aft of the cockpit which regardless of country always seems to be sandy yellow Some small touch ups then its time for future and decals
  18. Quick test of the green to make sure I like it: And....GO! Ready for the white tail paint and some details up around the nose, then it's time for the decals. Is there a plane with more decals/stencils than the Starfighter?
  19. The Whirlwind's main camo is done Used picture hanging putty to get the soft edges Did it in stages Got a few lines I'm not happy with to repaint, but ready for the next step: The White Stripes.
  20. Brilliant! I always wondered how you paint checkerboards. And thanks for the homemade decal tips. Looking great. I just finished a similar P-38 for the Dropping Iron GB.
  21. Gorgeous! I really like the BMF underside. Well done. With the decals the plane really pops!
  22. Picked the paint scheme - thanks Archie! Topside grey is on Now for some more masking Two nacelles will make things tricky but looking forward to it.
  23. Started in on the topside camo. Masking the LW splinter camo is a nice change from the lightly feathered RAF style. Super fast. Now to mix some dark green
