  1. Tackled mine after it sat on the shelf for many years. Love the P-61,s. Cannot believe that not one of the high quality manufacturers, TAMIYA for example, does not come out with a version of this aircraft. The market is in dire need for a new example of this great aircraft. ARE YOU GUYS AT TAMIYA READING THIS ? Done my 61 as " Coopers Snooper ". As the others have stated. lousy clear parts fit, and two different cowls really screw up a fine model. Whomever the designers were when this kit was on the drawing boards I truly believe that day they all had a three Martini lunch. I hope they fired t

    Tamiya DO-335

I built the Do-335 Pfeil " Anteater " Two Seat Trainer version. One fantastic kit. One of the best manufactured kits on the market today as compared to others. If only the other manufacturers could copy their quality for fit. It,s a shame that it,s not a made in U.S.A product. To buy the kit and build it is to love it. Am working on the single seat version now. What a pleasure to build.

    P2V Neptune

Would anyone know if any decals are still available from any Mfg for the 1 / 72 P2V Neptune. Cannot seem to locate any. Thanks everyone.
  4. My favorite is Western Pacific. Outstanding color schemes and many differen and unusual artistic representations.
  5. My Monogram 61 is 90 % completed. The Black turned out beautiful using Floquil Gloss Black. Doing it as " Coopers Snooper " Anyone do that one? Like everyone else, the clear parts fit leaves something to be desired. Would like to see the cowl flaps match instead of one open and one closed and the wing / fuselage mating could be a little better. All considered not a bad kit. Would like to see a new one by the better manufacturers that are out there now get one on the market. Are you manufacturers listening ? Will post some pics when finished.
  6. Would anyone know if Academy Model Company has a web address to contact them on. Thanks for any assistance.

    B-29 Enola Gay

Finishing up my Academy B-29 Enola Gay. Have all the NMF done using Alclad 2. Trying to be as accurate as possible, would anyone know for sure if the tip of the vertical stabilizer was painted Red or left Bare Metal ? Have seen illustrations of Enola Gay having a red painted tip on the vertical stabilizer and also seen some B & W shots which seems like the aircraft is totally Natural metal even the wing leading edges. No de-icer boots, which is the way I finished it. The only thing left is the question of the vertical stabilizer. Red tip or not. Input would be appreciated. Thanks for any h
  9. Thank You guys for the input. What particular shade of Yellow, if your going to do it in Yellow, would you suggest. In fact, do the instructions call for Yellow? I am a fan of enamel paints. Thanks again.
  10. Very nice job, especially on the weathering. It,s not overdone as on some that I have seen. As they say, less is sometimes more. Weathering is great if it,s done right such as yours. That,s one part of this hobby that I still have to learn to master, and get it right. I think you have gotten it right. Beautiful job.
  11. As the other response stated , try e-bay or Amazon. I personally have quite a few books on the F-106. If their is any particular question you may need answered, post it or drop me a PM. If I am able to help I surely will try and find the answer in my reference material.
  12. Waiting on my Revell/Germany Eurocopter EC145 ADAC/REGA to show up in the mail. Would like input from anyone that has built this particular kit. Good, bad, problem areas or whatever I mught need to know about the kit. Thanks for any and all responses.
  13. umgriz, thanks for the input. That is interesting Seamaster
  14. Jon, got out my trusty magifying glass just in case. Got a B&W photo of an F-89A 49-2435 with a spoked nose wheel. An F-89D ( only # on tail visible ) U.S Air Force 22622 / Spoked nose wheel. F-89C 51-5793 74th FIS, spoked wheels, F-89B 49-2472 Idaho ANG ( photo taken 1956 ), spoked wheels. Can,t find anymore tight shots. As for the picture being an operational phot or test photo their is no way of telling. I did find some good close B&W photos of your air scoop question. The caption states ; BEGINNING with the F-89D scoops were added to the fuselage just above the trailing edge of th
  15. Jon, the modifications you done to your F-89C did not necessarily make it totally accurate. After seeing yours which looks terrific and reading about your mods I decided to get out all my material on the F-89 since it peaked my interest again. Went thru my Detail & Scale F-89 and my F-89 Photo Chronicle ( 124 pg Black & White & Color pics ) I found a close up shot of the right side of the nose wheel. It,s exactly like the kit nose wheel. No spoke and smooth. Apparently some aircraft differed. So the kit nose wheels would not really be wrong if you wanted to use them. I also have a
