Hi guys, Next big jet build for me will be the Academy FA-18 done as a (current)CF-18. Can you rivet counters and experts let me know what the best aftermarket parts to build an up-to-date CF-18 would be? Hi guys! Starting to spool up for my next build. I like to alternate between large scale jets and props. My Tamiya F-14 (1/32) has a ways to go yet but it's never too early to start stockpiling for the next one. I'd like to a build a 1/32 Spitfire Mk IX in 441 RCAF markings post D-day. My question is as follows: the Tamiya kit seems awesome but I like pulling out all the stops. What is the standard aftermarket add-one that people can recommend for this kit? Resin? Photo-etch? Metal cannon barrels? Let me know so I can hopefully do her justice! Thanks in advance! ben

Hi everybody. I've been hacking away at my big Tamiya Tomcat again for the past few months. I was wondering if anyone had used this upgrade set from Aires? The flaws with the Wolfpack and Teknics sets are well documented and I don't really want to buy individual F110 spruces for the Tamiya F-16 as some crazy but dedicated people on here have done. I currently own the Teknics set but would be willing to spend to make it authentic. Aires usually gets good reviews but I'd like to hear some good feedback before I drop (yet another) $50+ on this project! Thanks! Ben

Hi Chuck, I am building a 1/32 B model as well. I am using the Teknics cockpit set and the Eduard seatbelts and interior sets etc... Needless to say that I am a long way from where you are at. I am just sticking the seatbelts on tonight. I notice that the painted photo-etch is pretty sensitive and the paint peels off really easily. Do you (or any of the other Tomcat gurus who are frequenting this build) know what FS colour the belts are so as to paint over the exposed metal photo-etch? Shiny metal seatbelts just are not doing my baby justice! Thanks, Ben

I had actually considered this....but I already have the Teknics set for airframe upgrade. Are there any other F110 upgrade kits out there that anyone knows of?

Perhaps to re-phrase the question....Does anyone sell the parts trees for the engine only?

I need F110 turbine front and back sections for my Tamiya Bombcat. Does anybody have any idea about how to best go about acquiring such things? I'm hoping that somehow someone (preferably two) people with Tamiya Vipers might want to part with their engine for a reasonable price.
