  1. Hey guys Maybe its just me, but i had some trouble glueing the wire to the kit parts. If i am lucky and it sticks to it, mostly i end up tearing it from my fingers. Now i heard of the CA activators and tried it. It helps but does no good to the already applied color... Oh well. Do you use a special type of CA (the viscous one). Is there a way to seal the colors from the activator (future didn't work out...) Thanks for your help. Best regards
  2. Hey Janne Awesome build you got there. I did not know about the cutting edge intakes. But chances for me to get those are quite small i guess... I was about to start on the leading edge slats.. Now i will dryfit some more... Thanks for sharing!
  3. Hey, thats a question i ve asked myself a couple of times before... I just compared some photographs (WarbirdTech Series Volume 33). Externally i only found the airscoops aft of the BN's cockpit and the one on the left side in front of the vertical fin. Furthermore the perforated divebrakes (i just found a picture of an a-6a with plain speedbrakes, though...). Then there is the composite wing which has a different folding mechanism (only of importance if you want to depict a folded wing bird, of course). The TRAM turret can be omitted easily. The diffrences in the cockpit are the most difficul
  4. Eddie, thank you very much for sharing those pics. The definitly bring me farther. (I realized that the wingfold mecanism is quite simple, compared to the one found in a skyraider for example). Furthermore you brought me on the track of Aerofax and Ginter. Is Aerofax available somewhere (printed)? By now i know about the squadron books. Is there more hidden secret (for a newbie like me) series that i should know about?? Concerning the Nautilus brace: I ordered one about two weeks ago (but of course they have to cross the pond). Unfortunately (actually i find it great) i'm making quite good pr
  5. Hi there As i am right now about to start my build of a 1/48 Vigi myself, i'm also looking for some pics. Since i was in san diego on uss midway two years ago, i am quite happy with my own closeup shoots of that bird. Unfortunately my display case is a bit more cramped than the deck of midway i have (and want) to depict it with folded wings (the one on midway is with extended wings). So i'm looking for some detail shots of the wingfold section. By now i googled quite a bit and found out that the one on presentation in Pensacola has folded wings. So is there anyone out there who is willing to
  6. Hey guys Thank you all for sharing your knowledge. I now have all the information i hoped to get. hopefully the model turns out as acurate as i plan... regards Roman
  7. Hi there. I have a question about the control surfaces of the tiger since i just got my AFV Club F-5E and plan to model it in flight. First of all i have to say what a great kit this is. It just goes together without any truble. And i think i am a bit spoiled quality wise since my last model is the tamyia skyraider... Now here are my questions: Are the parts H9 and H10 the flaps? How much are they normally deflected in slow flight (not landing configuration) Are the slats dropped only for landing configuration? Are parts H12 and H13 the ailerons for roll control? Can they deflect upwar
  8. Hey there Maybe you' ll find this interessting too?! http://www.gonavy.jp/CV-CV12f.html Regards Roman
  9. Hey Paul I like your pilot, the visor open gives a nice look. Is it blood on his left arm? Are you building a specific airplane? keep us updated. Regards Roman
  10. Hey John Nice start! I guess it's gonna be the "SUPERHEAT 210" too?! (The navy's first MIG-21 Killer). I'm building this bird in 1/48. But it's still a long way to go...
  11. Hi there, This is what i plan to put together into an Hunters Crusader. Hopefully i succeed in finishing on time... I'll try to keep you updated.
  12. Hey guys Thats gonna be a difficult decision, because about every model in my stash would fit in this category... But most likely i am gonna join with a Seasprite or/and an F-8 Crusader in VF-111 or VF-162 markings. Regards Roman
  13. Hi guys Finally I got my kit and cockpit set of an A-4e. I'm planning to build mike estocin's skyhawk of va-192. On a artists book cover (on yankee station) , his plane is shown with a belly tank. As you might know there's no belly tank included in the hasegawa kit. Can i just take a wing tank, or does this have other dimensions? And was 2 shrikes a common loadout, or do i have to add something? Thanks for your help. Roman
