  1. Actually there are differences between the MH and HH models. The "original" MH-60G's with tail numbers 87-26006 (?)- 87-26014 had the "snoopy nose". The snoopy nose has the weather radar mounted up front rather than off to the lower left side as the HH's do. Additionally, they have the Navy style cockpit doors. Around year 1996, the HH's were mod'ed with the single piece cockpit window which resemble the Navy style but is mearly a window style change from the Army UH-60 models with the sliding vent. After Kosovo in 1999 or so, the AF did away with the only special ops H-60 unit and the th
  2. [This the generic mesh I used (similar stuff to K&S) on my 1/35 HH-60. I did all the vents and grilles on the helicopter. You have a model of an aircraft which no longer exists. 014 was rolled down a steep hill while on a mission in Afghanistan in 2004 killing Senior Airman Jason Samec.
  3. This is an older pic than what's in the fleet now. There is now a light bar forward of the mast going across the main rotor pylon cover...just aft of the sliding cover. Also, below each pilots step and the tail position light. These are LED lights added earlier this year and are called NVIS, night vision imaging system. Keep in mind that the mods were implemented in a sort of piece-mealed fashion which is why there are variations between units, years and even aircraft within units. For example, plume detectors were added to the forward sponsons as part of the mod (an early stage) but w

    MH- 60G

Hey guys, I'm down here in P-cola this weekend, but real quick - I'm waiting on the first decal sheet off 227 and 224 to get back from the printer, I'm hoping it'll be in my mailbox when I get home. Eric, ggaunt - I'd like to talk to you guys about what other airframes were finished in those colors and if any other pix are out there. Y'all have a good weekend and I'll catch everyone on the flip side! Regards, Grant Hello, Grant. Drop me a line: Gregory.Gaunt@dm.af.mil
  5. Sir, what made you decide to use "DR" and "AFRC" in your touch-up of the "pave hook"? G Gaunt Tucson
  6. Depends on how long it's been in the hot sun or who painted it. Elizabeth City Coast Gurd Station has been doing an awesome paint job with a different poly paint which is smoother and easier to clean than the pup coating sprayed on at CCAD.
  7. "I hope to heck they buy the thing. I would fly on it...." Flying on it will be one thing. Working on the pig will be another.

    MH- 60G

"...Okay, jump forward a few years to April 2003. At least two HH-60Gs from Davis-Monthan AFB deployed to Iraq wearing a three-tone scheme..." So right you are, but more like four aircraft. That unit deployed to Kuwait then into Baghdad in 2003 with the desert paint job (without permission). They have a history of doing so, but then they are the "tip of the spear" and can get away with it. OR, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission. 227 is now my bird and the tan still shows on the input modules and though some faded paint in other areas.
