  1. belly is light gray 36495 main color is 36320 top color is 35237 rotor heads and blades are 36320 the shaft between the swashplate and rotor head is bare titanium
  2. Don't forget to flip the main rotor blades over, Italeri must have thought it was a Russian helicopter. It should spin counterclockwise. THe way it's molded they have the blades oriented to spin clockwise.
  3. all the titanium parts on the H-60 and H-53 rotor heads that I deal with are a bit like a purple gray a bit darker than aluminum. Testors Metalaizer Ti seems a bit too dark too me.
  4. I read the Navy paint scheme spec a while back, it said that the color of ordnance should be the most common underside camoflage color in use, currently its 36735, but I'm sure the ablative coating on the Navy's bombs would look darker with all the crud stuck to it.
  5. Sweet. Thanks. Yup, I'm looking for the Tiger markings for the tail. If you find them, I'll need the white underlaying decal too. The tiger did not react well to Micro-sol.
  6. I messed up the Tiger on one side of the tail, http://store.spruebrothers.com/Product20330 anyone have some unused Tiger Meet decals they're willing to part with?
  7. no, this is the elastomeric rotor head used on the CH-53D, the tail rotors are the same between the MH-53J and the CH-53D. The CH-53E has 7 blade hub that uses oil lubricated bearings for flap, pitch, and lead/lag. The CH-53D uses elastomeric (basically alternating layers of steel and rubber bonded together) bearings to providee the same.
  8. actually its dark ghost gray 36320 the Navy's H-60s do not use light ghost gray. Rotor system is 36320 (main rotor head, swashplate, and tail rotor head) fuselage is 35237 over 36320 over 36495
  9. also, its out already???!!!! hope mine comes soon
  10. I know you can't see very much of it but the MH has a different instrument panel. MH-53E: (the other side is pretty much the same) Note on the MH there is a big meatall where the CH has a TV screen. The MH was never modified to add FLIR. To be honest if you build any CH-53E from Desert Storm or earlier, the panel should look more like this. The FLIR mod was before my time, but I think it was added in the mid to late 90s.
  11. Great Models is taking preorders for the long awaited (for me anyway) MH-53E kit
  12. any chance you could give us the BUNOs on the sheet?
  13. I'd be very interested. I didn't think anyone else was, I posted some Navy photos of it some time ago. They have since become HSC-8 and swithed to the MH-60S. Their website did not have any pictures of the new aircraft but the home page has a pretty nice graphic.
  14. Just didn't want you to get too far before you discovered it. I know my projects usually end up in the back of the closet when I find a problem. I'd like to see this one done, I haven't decided which H-53 decals I will use for my next one.
