Hey Darren....while you're at it tell Revell to do an *accurate* 1/72 C-130J series! Several versions including an AC-130J and an EC-130J Commando Solo. And while they're at it...either a new tool 1/144 C-5B & M! Or...a re-release of the one they did in the 1980's. Thank you and good night. Paul

Any possibility that Revell will come up an accurate 72nd scale C-130J and several variants?? Anytime soon or ever?
-
Awesome...thanks! It seems as if there's several ways to do this. Got a lot of experimenting to do. Paul

Thanks so much! I've got a lot of reading/watching to do!
-
Yes! This is what I've been reading too. I have a large 72nd AWACS that I'm trying to weather/mottle. I don't want a lot of dirt or grease...just a "mottled" surface on the A/C. They're very well taken care of...but used a lot. I believe my mistake was that I didn't paint a dark undercoat first and then build up the lighter, final color. Oh well...Lesson learned. Paul

Ok...great. I meant mottling though. IE....the process of breaking up the smooth surface of a freshly painted object or A/C. Technically it's called "mottling". Or weathering too...either way. I just wanted to be clear about what I needed. Thanks!! I'll look at Youtube.

Gents, How do you guys "mottle" a surface on a LARGE (72nd AWACS) military aircraft? I work mainly with Air Force planes but Navy too. I tried it last night for the first time. LOLOL!!...I sucked at it. Soooo...I just painted the A/C all nice and pretty and now I'm Futureing it. Just glad that I was able to salvage the original paint job. How do you guys mottle an A/C surface? (not really heavy "weathering" per se') IE..."break up" the smoothness of a surface. Make it look like it's been used....etc. Any articles...etc?? Thanks, Paul

Ahhh....I like it the old fashioned way. You build it!.... Paul

Yep...I'm not interested in an exact replica. I'm interested in the beauty of an AF1 for my display case in the living room. But then...wanting for this thing is easier than doing. Not a whole lot out there! And....I'd have to buy several kits and kit bash. Thanks Jennings. Paul

Awesome! Thanks so much guys. If you hear anything keep me in the loop. Paul

Looking for 1/144 Air Force One decals. Anyone make a set? Thanks.

I had the chance to visit NAS Jax a few weeks ago. Saw a bunch of P-8's on the flight line. MAN they look impressive. If a decent kit comes out I'd be willing to buy. IF it accurate.

Ok now....that was cool!

Greetings! I'm building the Testors 1/72 B-2. Since its the only game in town...I'm glad to have it. But MAN what a kit! Terrible....most everything. Anyway...I've noticed that the B-2 is probably closest to Gunship Grey. (36118 I think) BUT...it has that same sheen as the F-22 at certain angles. Anybody know of a paint specifically for the B-2? (modeling paint) Or...anyone know of a good technique for getting that B-2 stealthy "sheen affect"? Thanks, Paul

Ok...Ok. What color then? If it's not a FS color...what color did they use to paint them with? Close enough will do.
-
I'm having a heck of a time finding the exact FS color for the AGM-86 ALCM. Anybody know for sure? It's for a current B-52H. AMT 1/72. Thanks ahead of time.

Oh now...that's too much to resist!! Would to God someone would make a 72nd scale Mercury....

Any of you guys have this particular Revell 1/72 B-1B? It's boxing number 04307. HERE. Specifically I'm looking for the decals of this boxing. Thanks.

Jennings...pleaaase do a Photoshop of a Blue Angel C-17! The TBirds you did was awesome. Or....whoever did. I think you did it

Ya know....I get it about the pig thing. I've got several of the AMT offerings. The Monogram also. But I gotta say...the AMT model is quite nice after you've spent endless hours sanding & filling. But as far as I'm concerned the engraved panel lines and the "H" tail and other "H" features make it worth putting up with the crap & pig issues. You just have to model the thing different....as in using every possible skill you've ever learned. LOL. The engines do suck however. Between the 2 though....they both have their good & bad points....just different. $0.02...

Anybody had any experience with the BUFF Master Design Update set for the AMT B-52H? (Corrected engines...lumps & bumps...etc.) If so...can you share your thoughts? And...where do I get this update set? Thanks!
