  1. Dear Lord. I have enough pain doing A/C models. Forget scratch building *anything* yet. Not gotten to that stage yet. lol.. But a WWII Cruiser!?!? You're a braver man than I. Oh and P.S....I may do the 'Catch a Falling Star'....I may not. Right now, it's either that or a U.S. Marines 53D. I have always loved that helo! Can hear them coming for miles. When I was a kid, a USM 53D made an emergency landing at the airport I always hung out at. Chip light. The 53D landed...then a Kaman Seasprite right behind him. They were in formation flying to NAS Jax. The 53 got a chip light...had to land...t
  2. LOL....I'm having fun with this. It's the "53 phenomenon on ARC". What started out as a simple request for pics has now turned into a full blown 53 geek Group Build.....and growing. Only on ARC....lol..
  3. Started mine last night. Let's see....maybe project # 10 now...? Lost count. LOL....when will I finish? Late Retirement. Definitly late retirement...
  4. WOW!....post some of the ones you have. I'm not familiar with this one. Googling it now...
  5. Absolutely Phantastic!! A great F-4 subject. We hardly ever see a Phantom in the USAF all grey scheme. Thanks for posting!

    C-23 Sherpa kit?

I see Sherpa's in and out of Dobbins periodically. Actually...I think they are a pretty cool plane....but yes just dang ugly. What baffles me is how they fly. The wings are so narrow and small looking. But apparently they can carry boulders. lol...
  7. Uhhh...how bout a C-5 in 144th? Have we forgotten? They made a KC-10 in 144th...did they not? Or better yet...how bout a retooled 72nd P-3 with engraved panel lines....wheel wells....bomb-bay...and a great assortment of weapons? P-3's loaded for Bear look freakin awesome... Paul
  8. LOL!!....I KNOW there's better marketing people at Revell than that!! Who "approved" this box art? Pssscchh.....! Man...they must have been in some kind of hurry to get this thing to market or something. If it wasn't a true D (or close to it...) I wouldn't bother. But it's a pretty good model with greeeeaaattt rivet detail. Hey Academy.....you listenin?? I got 3 of them in the stash. Paul
  9. LOL...let me know when you find one. I'm wondering why Revell didn't include the upgraded parts on their re-issue? Hmmm...maybe a later "upgrade" to the re-issue?
  10. Yep...if it's above my pay grade, it's the pounce wheel all the way. lol.... But experiment 1st! Paul
  11. Cool! I'm doing a Marine gray one also. D model. Got a website for the decals? Paul
  12. Yep... want to do the pounce wheel (masons tool) but I want to experiment with rivet decals too. I was hoping someone out there made a sheet for the 53E itself. I don't want to have to buy and research....buy and research...etc. Paul
  13. Ok...I've got the Academy CH-53E. I'm trying to decide whether to use the pounce wheel for simulated rivets or rivet decals. Only problem is...I don't where to get CH-53 rivet decals or if they even exist. Anybody out there know of a sheet of simulted rivets? Thanks, Paul
  14. Yep...I'm with yas! I specifically want a sheet for the Navy/Marines RH-53D. Thanks! Paul
  15. Yes...I thought of that. But they are very explicit on their website. "Ask only as a replacement parts for your current model". I've bought plenty of 53's from Revell....just not the most recent one. I have too many 53's in the stash as it is. Thanks, Paul
  16. Hey Revell!!...you listening to this conversation?? Dam if I ain't about to buy a 72nd C-5!! LOL.. Paul
  17. Can't wait to see that! You da man when it comes to 53's.... Paul
