  1. Yes....we can only hope. Thanks
  2. Kinetic C-17 - Any word? I've looked all over the Web. Nothing. Anybody heard anything new?
  3. Holy cow dehowie….seems like you know your stuff well! Thanks for that. I've been a BUFF addict for eons.....worked on them in the USAF. But seeing the issues with these kits...I'm thinking it's really hard for manufacturers to get a BUFF just right. Knowing the secretive nature of the USAF...that doesn't surprise me. MC has been great to us. This is the main reason I will always buy their stuff. Yes...I wish all things were perfect...but we don't live in a perfect world. Hell...I'm happy with the AMT offering...even though it is a serious modeling PITA!!! Once you build it and make it lo
  4. Looks great Paul B!! Even though I can see the inaccuracies (I worked on the BUFF-G's & H's in the USAF) it's still a beautiful showpiece. Thanks for the pics. I look forward to the article.
  5. Yep....I'm with dehowie. It definitely is the best we've ever had.....but like Paul B. says...not particularly the "very best". Yes...there's issues with it. So what? That's true with even the best engineered kits. But the MC-H builds up to an amazing showpiece. Apparently creating a BUFF kit is a lot harder than it seems. I'm sticking up for MC because they've stuck up for us. Listened to us...changed things...offered fixes...even some free stuff. I'm willing to give them grace. They've got my business forever. (assuming things don't radically change). It's called Gratitude.
  6. I've got 2 of these things. (MC) I'm happy as a lark. Yeah there's errors and inaccuracies...but it's a beautiful showpiece once done. Frankly, I get tired of all the negative talk. Most people are not rivet counters. Its a fun hobby anyhow. Plus...MC has been fabulous in their response to us. Their next attempt at aircraft will be better no doubt. Same with the AMT offering. With some modeling skill it turns out amazing. I'm not unhappy with either offering...but then it'd be nice to see more accurate offerings in the future. And the correction kits released. Heck...I'm just glad to have
  7. So what's the consensus? Kinetic or Hasagawa? I have a ton of Monovells…..love em. Basic yes...bet you can't beat the price. I want to move up though....
  8. Speaking of your decals....how's the new CD 72077 sheet coming?

    BUFF-H

WHOA!...just got my BUFF-H from Modelcollect. Man that thing is one complicated son of a gun. But a really beautiful model! Those guys have a customer for life now. Not kidding. Another several months of work...oh well....!
  11. I tell my AV students...."If you want to learn about airplanes...you build models..." They still don't really get it yet...but we're workin on them. This thread is great. I've learned things I wouldn't have been able to learn any other way. I'm not an E pilot. I'll pass it on to them now. Thanks guys!
  12. Looked at the construction booklet. That is one complicated mofo!! Holy cow....more than Hasagawa or Tamiya combined!! Looks verrrrry interesting however....
  13. Hmmm.....I'm thinking initial ice formations...? Seems like dirt would impact lift and would be cleaned off before flight...especially on top of the wing. Ice may be a better explanation... Or maybe a funky looking frost formation in the area of the fuel tanks.....
  14. Hey guys...I'd like a really good aftermarket antenna set (lumps & bumps also) for my BUFF-H's. Opinions welcome: 1) Is there such a thing in the aftermarket for the 1/72 BUFF-H? 2) If so....what have you used? IE...what's your favorite? 3) If so....what is the best? Thanks ahead of time! Paul
  15. Been with the Revellogram for years. VERY satisfied with it....although there are some fit issues. But it definitely offers the Best Bang for the Buck. You can pick one up dirt cheap at almost any model show. I don't have the HB offering but hear it's really nice too. If I didn't have so many dang Projects in the stash I'd definitely have the HB offering too. My 2 cents worth.... Paul
  16. Thanks guys! This is the thing. I've used Testors Dullcoat for years. But...it's too flat. I want more of a matt coat that isn't too flat. And...something that plays well with Future. It looks like Micro Flat is the best pick.
  17. Thanks! Does it play well with Future? Or maybe....what doesn't it play well with if anything..?
  18. Guys...My BUFF-H is decaled and sealed with Future. I'm ready for the flat coat now. I know about Tester's flat. Its pretty good. But I know there's other...maybe better flat coats out there. What is best....and/or your favorite flat coat? Thanks Paul
  19. Mark....how to order? Are they released for sale yet? Thanks!
  20. Come on man....give these guys a break. They've been fantastic.....
  21. Dittos on the corrections!! I'll definitely buy. Thank you MC!!!
