Yep....I don't normally like Soviet A/C. But the An-124 is extremely well done by Revell. And...the price? No clue how they do it. But I ain't complainin! Been thinking seriously about picking up a copy at a show. Maybe do a what-if in USAF markings...?? LOL....it's just too military looking to leave in blue & white livery. And yes...I've heard by more than one reliable source that the original Otaki/Revell molds are kicking around somewhere.....

Yep....I got the fantastic 72nd A400M for $60.00. No discounts....no specials. Got it when it first came out. In fact...got 3 of them!!
-
Yes...the kit has those decals also. I have one. It's for the "Air Team" boxing...
-
Absolutely!! Glad to see the response of a lowered price....but the kit is still not worth $80.00. But at least we're headed in the right direction...
-
If you decide...I have first dibbs! Please....??
-
Are you from Roden? If so...then thank you. Seriously....$50 - $60 is what I think this kit is worth. If the price goes down...I'll buy several.
-
LOVE the logic! LOL... Gotta agree with you. Maybe they just threw it out there to let the market "decide". But like you said....they're gonna get burned. More expensive than the Anigrand kit?? LOL....you gotta be kiddin me. Didn't realize that. Definitely will not buy. I've waited this long....it ain't gonna hurt to wait some more. But d----it if it ain't frustrating. And no Roden...I will not get over my initial sticker shock and then buy. Once I've decided....its a done deal. However...if you reduce the price to 50 - 60.....I'll reconsider. That's just me though.....

Indeed! If the Kinetic C-17 is anything like their E-2 and C-2....then I'm all over that! Yeah...I'd pay above $100.00 for that. Not sure how much over...it just depends on the final product. And you know fellas....as long as we've waited for a new tool injected C-5....it looks like we will be waiting a lot longer. Its astonishing to me as to what Roden was thinking....? Pent up demand so they could raid the market!? For me....and a lot of others I think....it ain't gonna happen....not for a basic 144th kit. d----it!....
-
Ya just never know.... I live in GA.
-
Amen to that. Dam....
-
LOL...that's pretty funny.... The C-5 looks pretty good! I'm surprised at the level of detail and the moveable control surfaces. But $140.00?? To me...it's not worth it. I'd pay $50 - $75..... But I'll ride the discount bus at Hobby Lobby or with some other deal. I *may* get a $140.00 kit....but doubtful at this point. Price....that's the only disappointment at this point. And it's a big one.
-
Hmmmm.....different way of looking at things. Not bad. Good dialog. Thanks!!
-
Sorry...I'm out....UNLESS the engines are killer detailed and all antenna....lumps....bumps and intakes are all accurate. And the fit will have to be classic.... Even then....the jury is still out.
-
Amen! If they're just trying to piggy back off the ridiculous prices for the Otaki C-5....then they're just trying to "dig" the market for as much as they can get away with. But better companies produce good products that are as generous as possible in features and at a reasonable price. Best example is Revell's An-124 and C-17. They were/are a steal....even if produced by a larger company that could afford it. Roden will have to do much better on price if they expect a good response.

All I got to say is that I'm not going to pay anywhere near $100.00(+) for a basic kit. I'll keep & build the C-5's I have. I look at Revell's An-124 with a great interior and swing nose...etc., all for around $50-60. Now that's a great deal. Not to mention their 72nd A400M. Both of those are great models. The most I'd pay for a new (basic) C-5....B or M...would be no more than $65...if that. Thank you and good night.
-
Awesome!! Thanks so much!
-
What did you use to get the intake shrouds to look so polished aluminum? Gorgeous....
-
Holy crap!!.....that's gorgeous....
-
Just curious...how did you find this information? And....are there more sprue shots? Thanks....
-
Ok...I reviewed the Roden C-141. Nice kit...albeit minimal. Still...Ok for the price. If Roden charges $165 for the C-5...I'm OUT! But if they bring it down to the $65 range per above posts....I'm in. Still.....its all about the engines. If they are done well...I'll buy several. If not....only one of each. Still wish there was an interior and cockpit.....
-
And the engines for BOTH variants better ROCK! The engines for the Otaki offering had lots to be desired.
-
Absolutely!! I'm tracking there with you....
-
Cool! What's your thoughts about this whole thing? You think Roden will hit a home run? Or is it a lot of hype about nothing? IE....will this thing have interioir and a cockpit? Just curious if you or anybody really knows....
-
And...how do we know the list price? Is it that close to release??
