Post WWll carrier based aircraft, primarily from the late 40's through 1960, as well as small air forces around the world. I love the "one-off" and unusual.
  1. WTB Modelcraft F-82 radar pod and nightfighter decals. Any help appreciated.
  2. I need a Dynavector 1/48 scale Gannet canopy for my CA Gannet (kit part way undersized). Any help appreciated. Bob
  3. I just need the Sea Mossie markings, so if you can part with them from the sheet, I'd be appreciative. Bob
  4. DDK 4802 Seafire Mk 1, Mk 2 K4/12 1/48 scale sea meteor K4/13 Several FAA subjects
  5. Looking for the following full or partial sheets: 4802 Seafire Mk 1 and Mk 2 K4/12 1/48 sea meteor K4/13 1/48 any of the FAA subjects, Any help appreciated
  6. Looking for counter rotating prop, blades and sting hook for this 1/48 kit. Any help appreciated
  7. Specifically, I am using either black or burnt umber, heavily diluted with thinner, as a wash in panel lines. When the paint is thinned on a pallet, it "chunks" into small pigment grains and does not retain it's paint qualities- IE- it is no longer mixed as part of the carrier.
  8. I have a question, probably asked here before many times. Why does my Model Master enamel paint, particularly dark pigmented paints, fail to retain the pigment in the paint- in other words, the pigment separates and tiny bits of it solidify and separate from the carrier. It often happens after only one use of a paint jar, particularly with black, umber, dark greys, etc. Is there a fix to this?
  9. I am preparing to start construction on my 1/48 scale Dynavector vacform Scimitar, and need photo details of the wingfold. I can't find any good detailed photos anywhere. Can anyone help with this? Any help appreciated.
  10. Yes it flew and only three examples were ever made before it was scrapped. I may try to convert an earlier mark of Firebrand into a Firecrest- or try my first-ever scratchbuilt aircraft. Which, by the way is a sure-fire way to get a manufacturer to kit something. I scratchbuilt a Swedish S tank, and viola! -Kitted. Then it was a British Scimitar light tank- Again- Kitted shortly after completion. Currently awaiting someone to kit the Spanish Aircraft carrier Principe de Asturias, as I scratchbuilt that a few years ago. Then I will be 3 for 3...
  11. Firecrest was the designated successor to the Blackburn Firebrand, a marginally successful heavy fighter-turned-torpedo bomber. Did anyone ever kit this obscure aircraft in 1/48 scale?
  12. Thanks for the input- I am still a bit conflicted. I agree with you all to the extent that the evidence shows much of all three options. I actually did not know the Sea Fury wells were Chromate yellow. Guess it will be sky Type S and hope for the best. Many thanks.
  13. I am building Magna Models 1/48 scale Firebrand Mk 5, and need advice on the color for the main gear wells- Natural Metal, Zinc chromate yellow, interior green or sky type S? Any help appreciated.

I just purchased this kit off the clearance table at Bobe's Hobbies in Pensacola. I need some help with locating decals for the NMF/Orange trainer version, and possibly the camo single-seat attack bird (not sure if I can get there from here...). Nice looking kit from the sprues, but not sure how she'll build up. Came with no instructions and no decals. Any help appreciated.
