  1. Hi Ed Not looking at a specific serial number yet but considering that they were there till 68 I believe that both wing styles would have deployed there, from what i've read so far the Case X wings were never modified to Case XX wings. Looking at other threads on ARC i'm not the only one who has tried to figure out the different wings. Cheers Ray
  2. Did they use the 102 with both the case X and Case XX wing in Vietnam. Also any rumours that Meng will upscale their excellent F-102A to 1/48 :)
  3. Hi Darren You are correct, Caracal makes a sheet and Victory models has 5 in stock. I was looking into this as the Hasegawa boxing of this is available on Ebay right now but I don't do Ebay. . I'm no expert on the F-15 but looking to see if the Hasegawa C model I have can be back dated or if the F-15J boxing would work better. There is a thread on Brit modeller where a guy has done an extensive list on what is needed to make a Streak Eagle so using that right now. Half the fun is researching a new project because clearly my stash isn't large enough yet :) Cheers Ray
  4. I Did not know that, just looked it up on Scalemates and yes they did back in 2002. I've never seen one but would like to pick one up for the stash as this is an interesting subject.
  5. Anyone know which kit would be the best in 1/48th to make a Streak Eagle.
  6. Hi Let_models Yes doing the a VNAF Bearcat with the Wings folded, I picked up Wolfpacks wing fold as it looks to have better detail. I was trying to figure out how I would do the vents, I like yours they turned out excellent. didn't know there were two rows so I'll have to look at some more references. Cheers Ray
  7. The above link from C2j are better pics than mine but with some help from the forum I think I have figured out how to resize pics, the above pic was a quick test of a not so good shot of Quick boosts engine compared to the kits.
  8. Letmodels was looking for some sprue shots of the Hobby Boss Bearcat. I received the kit and aftermarket finally from Model Hobbies in the UK and took pics. I've been trying to get my MAC to resize the pics to a size that can be posted on here but It just keeps the spinning wheel of thinking going and never resizes it. I'll be trying again and I've also taken the pics on the lowest resolution on my camera which is still to big to post here. Trying to sort it out Ray
  9. Thanks for all these pics Let_models. I have the Hobbyboss Bearcat and the Quickboost engine coming from Model Hobbies in the UK, they should be here soon but they did say to expect some delays with Covid and the postal service. Once they are here I'll snap some pics of both and post them. Cheers Ray
  10. Big thanks out there for Drifterdon for supplying me with the markings for the Bearcat !
  11. Also I do have the Hobbyboss kit and I'm sure I'll find just decals. Cheers Ray
  12. Thanks but I've never used eBay, I think it would be to dangerous for me.
  13. Good Eye! Also what is the wire at the end of the fuselage under the rudder. Interesting to see if they actually took it up or maybe they were justing seeing if it would start.
  14. Thanks, also this link Triet provided above has some interesting stuff. http://www.frenchwings.net/indochina/gallery/
  15. Nice job with the old small testors bottle👍. I'm going to try out AKs Metalizer for the first time and I'm now using Winsor and Newtons Acrylic flat which I really like. Cheers Ray
  16. Just compared your model to a museums -1 and I see what you mean about that exhaust shield needing attention. Nice weathered finish on your model, what do you use for the aluminum colour
  17. Just looking through that site more and lots of interesting pics especially the acquired Japanese aircraft, the P-63s and that one Dehaviland Vampire.
  18. From what I've read Triet yes it was the 1 and 1B. Thats a good reference site to.
  19. I'm using the Hobbyboss kit # 80357 . You can still find the Hobbycraft one fairly easily which is also in the Academy boxing but from what I've read the Hobbyboss one has a more accurate cowling/nose area but really I have seen the Hobbycraft one build up nicely and it looks like a Bearcat to me so personal choice there. I went to Hanoi and Danang last year so I was reading a lot more about this before going and this Bearcat got my interest along with Trumpeter's A-37 Dragonfly but that one will have to wait as I'm starting the Bearcat next.
  20. Thanks Drifter, thats very generous. email me at "rayloc at shaw.ca" and I'll get you my info. Cheers Ray
  21. Hi Drifterdon, If I could get the Academy markings off you that would be excellent, let me know how much you want for them. Thanks Ray Also thanks for posting more pics Let_models, excellent references especially from someone who was there. Cheers Ray
