  4. hello gang, I'm looking for intel about a "typical" (if such a thing exist - I guess it changes according to mission) load for an A-10 during Desert storm. From what I have read and already found on the web, I understand that a dual Sidewinder pylon (port outer wing pylon) and ALQ 131 ECM pod on starbord outer pylon were quite always on, but what for the rest of the "not-so-good-at-socializing" load ?. Any info, links, etc most welcome; Cheers Stef (#6)
  5. Hello, In fact, it is a repop of the ESCI kit. Finely engraved panel lines, cockpit as usual with ESCI very spartan ( a seat blob, with decals for instruments) otherwise a good kit, and the only game in town. Assembly is not really tricky, with a good putty tube at hand, that is. HTH, Cheers tef (#6)

  9. Hello gents, All is in the tittle ... I've been offered the Panda 1/48 UH-1N kit by my wife and i'm looking for a scheme, different from the sad-low-drab-toned kits offers .... I know of the Marines three tones scheme, but I'm contemplating something more exotic, like a Latin american AF or the like. Is there a good Huey reference site ? I've been google-searching a bit but didn't come with anything for now ... Any help or hints most welcome ... Thanks in advance Stef
  10. Hello, very nice work on the Trump MiG kit, especially the painting and weathering; More, that's the first t time one can see the engine exposure feature at its best ... most convincing ;) Thanks for sharing

  16. You're right Migrant, Yes, I noticed the airbrakes were not at the good angle; I'll have to unglue them, cut one of the arms to achieve the good angle. I will do it later, since I want to leave that kit alone for a while And, mister Pixel Pusher I Looooove that F-86 Scheme !!! Thanks for the input, guys Cheers Stef (#6)
  17. Thank you for the kind comments, guys ! It was challenging, but if it's good looking, then, I'm happy :D :D Now, back to this Shengdu F-7 !!! Stef (#6)
  18. Hello Gents here's the last born, the academy F-86 A striking scheme, but from my side, an half success : I encountered several difficulties in the building, espec. with the windshield and fuselage halves seams. More, the decoration scheme is coming from an Eagle Strike decal sheet, which are of very good quality, but as it is designed to fit the hasegawa kit, I encountered some very hard times to make them fit; I've been using large amount of water to settle them down, hence the glue/varnish/adhesive became very fragile and even after a coat of gloss varnish, manipulating the bird became
  19. Hello Many thanks for the nice comments Regarding the pics I've been using for the weathering, it's a mix of several published in "the MiG 17 and 19 units of the Viet Nam war", published in the Osprey range. I've been studying the various pics of camoflaged planes, either 17 or 19, and also, the pics in an Issue of Wings of Fame about MiGs during the Viet-Nam war ... The camo scheme is based on the pattern given by the Iliad decals sheet and the color profile in the above mentionned Osprey book ... As I'm as much an "history-eater" than a modeller, I'm always trying to get some documents/
  20. MiG 19 is certainly one of the sexiest Mig, and the 21, is the Brutest, I think; For the time involved in building, well I didn't really count; I'me working on models every saturday afternoons with friends, and on week days, say 2 hours a day, work permitting; This one was begun mid-november, but meantimes, I made an Argentine A-4 ... Hum, would say in complete duration, something like around 70 hours ... Once fuselage is closed, very straightforward .... Will post progress on the Trump Spit in the appropriate section ... Cheers Stef (#6)
  21. Thanks again for the nice comments .... Yes, Trumpeter's plastic is a bit soft ... at least on the oldest toolings, but it tends to get harder ... I've been experiencing troubles with their MiG 15, but the Vigilante or the 1/24 Spit (my current project) is better. for the intake, it the ensemble formed by the pit' insert + intake that is too short, hence the boo boo ... But in all, these are nice kits easily built, needs care but produce nice results ! cheers Stef (#6)
  22. Hello Terry, thanks for the comment, As for the national insignias, I concur, it as already been receiving a veil of highly diluted black, but I certainly was too light at it; It will be improved during the week-end .... ;) as for looking at the pics, for the weathering, well I'm under treatment to refrain, but I'm afraid it's not that efficient !!! I'm always trying to adapt/developp/test weathering techniques in every build, for first, I don't want to end with a collection that looks like an assembly of clones and second a good modelling friend of mine always told me that weathering
  23. Hello Gents, here is my last one built ... a NVN MiG 19, it is the Trumpeter kit, with a Neomega cockpit; not quite complete, I have to fix postion ligths to wingtips and remake an ejection handle for the seat, it just poped off during the photo session Decals from the Iliad range. Easy build, just need somme filler but nothing really hard. Weathering is intentionally heavy, due to pics I saw in the Osprey book about NVN MiG units during the war. Hope youll' like it :crits, hints, etc most welcome Cheers Stef (#6)
