  1. I have invaded the US :D , driving from Las Vegas to China Lake last night, passed through a small town called Boron, It has a museum with an F4 something or other parked outside, i may visit on the way back down. It was dark, and a bit late, nice to see though. I'm headed up to Sequoia and Yosemite for a few days before getting back to Vegas. :D

    Cobra manouver

is his what you were looking for Zmey?, Check the marvels of engineering clip. Warning for those at work, this has a loud, cheesy van halenesque tune in with it. regards > F22 <
  3. Pete, to me looks like an early morning or late afternoon sky over the southern airfields. The lighting is similar to flying into Heathrow or even Luton, if you know what i mean. On first glance, i thought about turning right to decend into the clouds, nice work
  4. you should'nt need the nose weight, but i've found that before the ordnance is on the model tips back very easily, add some weight just to be sure. regards (Academy viper in the paint shop)

    BV-222

I also have the BV 222 to build but the only photo i have found shows this other vehicle, anyone have anything else. regards
  6. For the hundreds of billions spent on various space programs, we should never have lost a satellite or an orbiter but, these things happen and they happen far more frequently than this blog would have you imagine. The article is a product of this sensationalist world and it's uber journalism by nobodys, who think they matter. One canopy failure from however many sucessful takeoffs and landings from an aircraft which is still not fully operational is from my own point of view, an indication of how good this product is. It is foolhardy to call these items POS's from reading this article which
  7. Currently being treated to a dogfight, courtesy of the USAF. Kickin back with a beer and watching the action. We get the Lakenheath Eagles once a year round these parts for training. Tonight is fighter night. Apologies for the dark photo, i was a bit rushed, these F15's don't really let you know they're coming until they are right on top of you. :D
  8. From the Airfix Website Britten Norman Islander – 1:72 scale Modified kit (Airfix code 03067) scheduled for spring 06 Widely used as a short-haul passenger aircraft and still in service around the world, the British-made Islander has also seen military service as the Defender variant. Either version can be made from this kit. Versions and decal schemes: Channel Airways Philippine Navy Defender Losotho Airways or Milford Sound Flightseeing regards
  9. But the lack of heat haze from the nozzles, detracts from the smoke at the boom. Thus, i smell something fishy....................i have inspected this shot in photoshop and i ain't convinced. Even with my wonderful EOS 350 the background blurs quite significantly when taking fast moving shots, this seem far too still. The Jury is out............................ :blink respectfully Bryan
  10. yeah, that and the visible feathered edge around the plane, noice <_<
  11. You need to shoot very light coats of colour, very light coats and build up the denisty, rather than cover in one go. I assume that it is gloss acrylic rather than flat or semi gloss. I tend to shoot the primer, sand, paint, then fine sand then get the novus polish out for the final shine. HTH regards
  12. Heading north on the A1 from Newcastle, two Sepecat Jaguars doing tight turns around the hills. I only see Tornado F3's at home, so the Jags are a welcome sight.
  13. Went to Gateshead Metrocentre today and picked up a couple of bargains. 1/48 Revell B-17G £14 or $24 there are still a couple left. 1/48 Airfix Buccaneer, the two kit in a box issue with the 5 decal options, best thing about this is all the decals are in register <_< £24 or $42 not a bad haul don't you think.
  14. That'll be the two chinooks that i saw on saturday then.......
  15. Two very low flying chinooks, i managed to get a picture after running around the house to get the camera, but it's not very good, i didn't have the big lens on.
  16. Thanks for the clarification Dave & Joe, It's a shame to lose it from Edinburgh, but at least it'll have a home. It needs a lot of work, but i'm sure that the museum will look after it well. The Plaque as you can see is long gone, hopefully before the local neds got to it. Am i right in thinking that the landing gear used to be in the retracted position, i remember passing by and seeing the gear partially deployed. regards Scrub that, just looked at the link, i think the neds were they ones who forced the gear down !!!
  17. That looks absolutely fantastic as it is so far Alby, at this stage i'd be panicking at messing up the paint. The details are extremely well done and the jammer is kick a.s.s........ regards
  18. Not sure if this has been posted here before. This particular display piece lives in Edinburgh, Scotland and may soon dissapear from it's current location. It's been resident here for a good number of years and since BAE Systems has relocated it's operations elsewhere the plane will have to go. A number of trophy hunters have removed parts from this aircraft, such as the redhats and lights and parts of the spine and undercarriage, but it still looks the business. Enjoy
  19. The Hasegawa offering is'nt bad shapewise, my kit had very brittle and marbled styrene, the decal cockpit and scabby seat was a bit of a put off too. Other than that i did'nt think it was too bad either. regards

    P-47D - (PICS)

This is an example of my the type of modelling i like, something that you probably did'nt expect to be any good anymore, but had an absolute blast of a time putting it together, and after all the fuss it looks the part. I love the markings and for a 30 year old kit, looks like a jug to me. Well done Michael, got any more of those ol kits in the garage? best regards
  21. Tyndall 02-4034 is pretty popular around these parts, i'm working on mine at the moment, almost ready for the decals. That's good work, keep it up.
  22. Tasty biscuits................., that looks fantastic. Eduard you say, i'll have to look this up. Nice work !
  23. I'll back-up the Hobby Link Japan folks. I managed to get a clear parts sprue for an OOP kit from them shiped directly from Tamiya for £5. Even after i forgot to change my address online, they sent out another sprue to the correct address. Scott deserves a medal for the way his business deals with customers. Even when the customers are idiots like me ;)
  24. That's looking pretty good Justin, my LHS has one of these at a reduced price, i may be tempted. That looks like a pretty nice equatorial mount next to your Shuttle, what's your setup? regards
