hi gang, i'm wondering about the different 'caps' on top of the E-2C's roto domes. There are conical-shaped, spherical callotes, or even nothing. Who can tell me what it is, and the time frames the different caps were used ? I'm building Kinetic's E-2C US Navy, and will use Fightertown decals VAW-115 'Liberty Bells´ thanks in advance, Hans

Hi Curt, thanks for this very useful information, will take care of this at my model. hole has to be on top, i'd never thought about such details. thanks very very much ! cheers, Hans

i'm wondering why here's no thread 'bout the e-2c's ` everyone seems to be happy about the kinetic kit, but nothing from the real thing ??? all we plastic freaks are waiting for anything from the real riders, so please post your pics here Hans

hi slick, Kinetic Hawkeye have a look at post #27, that's all i have to say about that kit. regards, Hans EDIT : yea, Stephen is right. it's a really hard job to place all that counterweight in the nose, there's no room for it. i use the place directly behind the cockpit to add some additional fishing lead. and putted a lot of it in the engine nacelles, just behind the prop's mounds. sorry guys i have to disappoint you. got my hawkeye from LuckyModels mid of december, and it was complete ! not only one part missing. Anyhow i need to say, this kit is very disappointing. of course it's the best Hawkeye in 1/48 scale, ('cause we have no other) . overall shape is fine, it looks like an e-2c. detailling is a shame, especially the cockpit. These are no bang seats, this is nothing. Hope Harold will take care ... As the wheel wells are. no details, but instead of this we have not one or two ejection marks, no, there are seven marks only at the roof of each bay, just between the -
Hi David, grets to Gelderland from eastern Westfalia ! i use an electronic controlled soldering iron for electronic purposes. but i think its more important to have the right tin - solder. by my experiences, you can forget any kind of 'wired' tin, even 0.5 mm dia wire won't work satiesfying. Since a lot of years i use a liquid solder as its used by plumbers. Applying it on both parts, melting it up on both parts, and put it together. a short touch with the hot iron after that will glue the parts together very clean and accurate sorry, but for soldering of lead parts i miss any experience.

hi guys, got mine on friday last week from LuckyM. overall shape looks nice, but the details .. especially the pit is, for my opinion, a bit more than humble. so here's my qw : who can tell what kind of seat is it used in that bird ? we have some good pics posted by Jose M. Ramos here in this thread, but sure we need some more from the pit. thanks for any help, Hans

thanks a lot John. so i'll have to check my reference pics again. kind regards, Hans

hi guys ( and gals .. ?) , can anyone tell me the correct color of the Grumman Mohawk OV-1C prop blades ? be sure i checked all the walk arounds, airliners.net, primeportal aso. but i'm not sure its a clean white, or an off-white, or a light grey. please help, i'll really appreciate. Hans oh, forget. an operational bird in vietnam, about 1965/68
