  1. I just recieved an e-mail reponse from Martti Kuivalainen and he sent me pics of the set and it is a beaut! Made by eduard and as expected, made to their very high standards. Like one of their ZOOM sets.
  2. I sent an e-mail to them and I am eagerly waiting. Tell me what all is included in this FE set, if you don't mind.
  3. the new kit (Bristol Mercury versions) does have some photo etch, but no instrument panel is featured as photo etch. Just an injection plastic one. The photo etch is nice that is included and features gunsight beads, seatbelts, rudder wires, stablizer details, and some other fiddly bits I may be forgetting. The series 4 Finnish version of this plane with the R-1535 engine and the greenhouse canopy all the way back features a photo etch instrument panel that is nice. Why they left this out on the Bristol Mercury kits is a mystery to me. IIRC, the old CA kit had photo etch detail for the t
  4. Thanks Sergey. I have the immaculate Bristol Mercury engine from Vector; however, I cannot make it fit within the confines of the cowling provided with the kit. No matter how much sanding from the inside I do (The wall of the cowling is paper thin now) the Vector engine is still too big by about one (1) millimeter. I suspect the problem is scale size of the cowling. I guess I could try to scratch build a new cowling, but, I have decided to just use the kit cowling and the kit resin engine which looks okay even if it is not as good as the Vector engine. I guess the vector engine will hav
  5. The caption says it all. I am working on a Fokker D XXI (Bristol Mercury version) and I am curious about what kind of aftermarket stuff is out there for this kit. Photo etch, and resin to be specific.
  6. Kasatka, where did you get the light colored radiator housing for the underside? Did you scratch build it or get it aftermarket from someone? Also, is this problem with the radiator housing the same for the late model MiG 3 by Trumepter?
  7. I am going to get it. I've seen it priced less than $20.00. As to the blank walls, this is one of those aircraft with metal tube framing in the cockpit. I think the sprue shots show it having a straight blank wall behind the tubing. I think the wall behind the tubing was curved to follow the contour of the fuselage on the sides and there should be some rivet and etched line detail on the inside fuselage wall. Just some thoughts for the scratch builder in me to spruce up a kit that otherwise looks good out of the box, judging from the oob review on cybermodeller. Not only did the later
  8. It does answer my question. Looks to be a good overall kit. Which further deepens the question (for me anyway) as to why Trumpeter would delete the kit and keep the early version of this aircraft in 1/48th scale.
  9. I am considering buying this kit; however, I am wondering about the overall accuracy, etc.. I notice that the early version is still available but the late is deleted from the catalogue. I also note that some on-line sources for mail order have this item listed at a discount. This is all leading me to wonder about the existence of any problems with the overall accuracy of the late version of this kit. So what does anyone know about the accuracy of this model?
  10. The Dutch colors are available from the Luchtvaarch hobby shop (aka Aviation Megastore). They are presently out of stock but are regularly restocked. If you can wait I would go that route. I am presently building a D XXI and am using these colors (ordered some time ago). Needless to say they are good paints and, from what I understand, spot on in the accuracy department.
  11. This is a really big "if" for me. When will this color bible be available in English? My cyrillic and Russian are rusty. Thanks.
  12. I have a copy, I have a copy! All kidding aside, thanks to you very much Vicktor for the offer of the free monograph on the Il 2. The part that I was especially interested in was the different metal wings, which I did not know very much about. Looking forward to the next one on the two seater. English material on this subject is always welcome. I hope that the rude comments of one person do not in any way deter you from continuing with the efforts that you have put forth so far.
  13. My request also sent today. Looking forward to seeing it.
