  1. Dunno ... I PRE-ordered 4 and I'm still waiting! Of late, Hannant's performance has not been exactly stellar so it wouldn't surprise me if they've not ordered enough and it's out of stock now!
  2. That was my thought - given the photo's I've seen, there is definately a difference between the Alconbury and Nellis a/c. I was going to go with 15" for Nellis and 18" for Alconbury, both with 1" outlines. Any thoughts??? I'm tempted to have a go with Corel Draw and my Alps MD-1000 but I suspect it will be a long and tedious process - hopefully with the new Sword T-38. someone will do an Agressor sheet?? Mike Grant - how about it??!! Chris St Clair
  3. Certainly think the following would be nice (mostly echoed from above!) B-1B Lancer - both Monogram and Airfix are inaccurate C-17 - Panda never delivered C-141 - the Nova vacform is showing it's age C-54 - well it would be cheaper then Proteus and better than Mach2! C-140 - easier to build than the Airmodel vacform and lots of interesting schemes C-27 - the Sky (?) kit is solid resin and about $300 C-5 - the DelVac kit still hasn't appeared and the nose profile is wrong anyway Chris St Clair
  4. Thanks for that Jim - I wasn't aware that there WAS another sheet! Looks like I got my arse and elbow confused again...! 72-312 is the one I have - it covers USAF and USN F-5E's and T-38's and includes the 57 FWW aircraft - however it only covers the 64th AS (red bort nos outlined in yellow). It's not bad but extremely limited in scope. I don't have -366 unfortunately - I guess that one has the larger bort nos?? Are you able to confirm the size of the markings??? 15" or 18"?? Thanks VERY much for this as I've been trying to figure this out for some time! Regards, Chris St Clair
  5. The Superscale sheet is a waste of time - I have two and they're both out of register. Also, they only allow you to build a USAF bird from the 527th AS at Alconbury - the UK-based aircraft had larger bort numbers on the nose than the 57th FWW and 64th AS aircraft. Maybe if we ask nicely, someone will do a sheet for us ) I've tried to make them up in Corel Draw but the outline is difficult - you can't just superimpose a larger font size over a smaller on unfortunately... Also, the actual SIZE is difficult to determine - I suspect the UK aircraft are 18" and the US ones 15" (with the outline
  6. OK guys, I'm in the middle of a H-21 build (5x) at present but have just come across an interesting photo of a USAF aircraft (attached). Can anyone shed light on this as I've never seen an a/c in this scheme before? Thanks in advance! Chris St Clair
  7. I'm trying to sort something out with them at present. Since they don't accept Paypal at the moment, it makes it virtually impossible to buy. The cost of shipping plus the Western Union fee is more than double the value of the parts I need!! I'll see how we get on Chris St Clair
  8. AVM Maquetas in Chile make a set of CFT's in 1/72nd scale - http://www.avm-maquetas.cl/
  9. There's always the Delta? (Delvac?) vacform in 1/72nd scale!
  10. I'd guess it was Maintrack - there were 2 versions of this, one boxed, one bagged. The resin is not brilliant and from memory doesn't fit too well (I have both and neither fits...) Can't remember off-hand whether they were designed for the Esci or Fujimi kits - mine is part-mated to a Fujimi kit at present. Hope this helps!
  11. Hi guys, Can anyone provide a walkaround for this a/c? I'm in the latter stages of building the UniModel kit, and am rather short for photos! All help much appreciated! Chris St Clair

  14. And live in the US and (I suspect) have an email account that ends in .mil or .gov! ...I've already tried it! Thanks Chris St Clair
  15. Thanks! Unfortunately you need a login for this and I assume you'd need to be a serving member of the military to be granted access! Regards, Chris St Clair
  16. Guys, I've been informed that this document will never be released under the FOIA - kind of surprises me as it doesn't relate to chemical or nuclear warfare in any way... I was hoping to find some basic blueprints to get the size and basic details right - guess it'll have to wait a few decades! Chris St Clair
  17. Can anyone provide a copy of this USAF document? I don't think it is covered by Official Secrets and I believe it contains specifications for Hardened Air Shelters. I have the Revell (ex-Preiser) HAS which is 1/100th scale and am planning to build one in 1/72nd scale - hopefully the above document will provide info. Chris St Clair

  19. If you're going to use white glue - be careful! I used Krystal Kleer for mine. Looked fine. Then the fuselage cracked when I was tidying it. I washed the airframe carefully to get all the swaft and dust off... And the transparency then fell off Bear in mind I was building 5 at the time, and EVERY ONE of them did this.... Chris St Clair
  20. OK... someone help me out here! I have already purchased the Revell HAS kit, which I believe is the later mark with the door girders. I'm assuming this is 1/100 scale since it does seem rather undersized! I have seen the new Eurofighter kit which comes with what appears to me to be a different style HAS with the split doors. My questions are:- 1. Are these the same kit? 2. Are they the Preiser (?) kit 3. Are they really 1/72 or actually 1/100? I have plans to build some but don't want to go to the effort of scratch-building if the Eurofighter kit does provide one in 1/72! Thanks in
  21. The Academy kit is very nice and goes together well - no major problems other than lining up the tailplanes. Pity I forgot about the resin cockpit set I had until AFTER I finished them! Oh well, when I start the next 3...!
  22. At last I finally finished something. Attached are two of the three T-6's I was working on - the third is having its canopy decalled. All are the Academy kit. The silver a/c uses Decals Carpena markings, whilst the yellow a/c are handmade using an Alps printer. The only aftermarket bits are the propellers. Chris St Clair
  23. Any chance of a set in 1/72nd scale??? Chris St Clair
