And what about the "AFRES" in this case - it appears to be smaller than the normal serials?
Thanks (by the way) Kursad!

Do you have a picture you could show or link to?
I'm not sure I completely understand what you ask for....
Here's a good example of what I mean...
-
Hope someone can help.
I know that the tailcodes are 18", the serial nos are 12" and the "AF XX" is 5".
What size are the "AFRC" markings on the rear fuselage?
Are the ANG/FS/FW etc markings also 12"?
And what size are the wing/squadron badges?
Many thanks for all your help!

Heck I would love a new 1/72 B-1. Hasegawa would be my preference though. If one of the Chinese manufactures does it theres no way I will buy it. Kinda sick of seeing all these new kits that are nowhere near accurate and have those godawful trench line and pothole surface detail. Just my 2cents.
You'd have to sell a lung to be able to afford to buy one - I guess you'd be looking at $200+ minimum!

I'm not a fan of weathering in 1/72 - it's far too easy to overdo itand completely mess things up...
-
I wasn't sure about the lights to be honest - I know that nowadays they're red in colour but couldn't find any decent pics of earlier a/c...
The flat is Windsor & Newton Galeria Medium Matt Varnish - water based and lays down quite nicely although it is a little rough.

He's already seen it... I think he was too focused on his "OT" F-16 to notice...

Well, first one finished... F-16C 85-1412 from the 512th TFS, 86th TFW

Well, my 2nd F-16 turned out to be the first one finished... not too bad but not my best... See the finished builds thread for more pics...

I spent several wonderful 30 day tours at Decimommannu, Sardegna (Sardinia in English). We ate at several restaurants that all had fantastic food, and I met some really wonderful people. Cagliari was a fun city to tour around. We usually stayed in the Il Grillo hotel in Assemini, also a very nice town. We had great times but never ever did anyone bring a pot of soup out to the flightline for us, darned the bad luck! On the other hand, we did have a big "roach coach" (truck) park at the edge of the flightline so we could buy food:
Hey Scott - don't suppose this was actually marked with USAF plates was it?

Or you could wait about a day or so and order the Steel Beach masking set from Sprue Brothers. I dropped them off this weekend and they should go up on the site sometime this week. There are 45 separate vinyl pieces. It was quite a project to do, but it will make life extremely easy. The set contains two full 8.5 x 11 sheets of vinyl with precut pieces. I can't wait to build an F-15 and use this set.
Edit: Just saw that you're doing it in 1/32. I've thought about releasing the mask in 1/32, but it would require 4-5 sheets of vinyl. That's $25 cost just in vinyl. I'd have to charge almost $50 to even make any money. I don't think anyone is going to go for that. Here's what I could do. If you PM me your email address, I can send you the pattern outlines. You could print them out and then enlarge them on a copier to 1/32 scale. That way you wouldn't have to deal with coming up with the shapes. They would already be done for you.
Darren - are these in 1/72 as well as 1/48th?
-
We did! It's a little dark, but highly appropriate - last year, the theme was F-111s :)

More Falcons than you can shake a stick at!

Really shaping up and looks great.
Make me think I should get back to work on the one I started.
Absolutely!

I see it no problem. Perhaps contrast or color ratios on your monitors are off? Did a nice job with the camo. Was it freehand?
Yep, all of my models tend to be freehand. There are a couple of places where I should have gone back and tidied up, but I wanted to get it finished...
-
No - it's definitely 3!! The dark green doesn't stand out well in these pictures - hopefully a coat of matt varnish will help!
-
I've never been able to get it smooth enough to satisfy me, so I tend to put a couple of coats of gloss to even things out. One day I may even get the hang of this modelling lark!
-
And more progress here too :)
-
Well, the result of a productive few evenings... A coat of gloss and it'll be ready for matt varnish and final assembly :)
-
The Ramstein 'C is also ready for glossing...
-
The F-16A is also ready for glossing and decalling...
-
I finally managed to move forward with the builds and the A-10 is now painted. A couple of coats of gloss varnish and it'll be ready for decalling...
F-16 markings...couple of questions...
