I was fortunate enough to find these at a local Halmark shop that was closing it's doors. They are 3 sided glass shelves that could be configured in multiple layouts. I have another unit like this on the other side of the room and they only costs $50 each. They aren't enclosed so dusting is still a thing but I think they look pretty cool. Keep an eye out for stores closing and/or remodeling and you can find some great deals out there.

hmmm....that's a good question. I actually haven't run any tests to see the thinnest that would hold up but I may have to do that. perhaps a line up of sheets on end at various thickness and angles to see what it can do. I'm always leary of doing these kinds of test for not wanting to "waste" material. But if I were smarter I'd realize that the actual waste is not knowing what it can and can't do and trying to print things that fail.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the Photon Mono X with near 2x the print area of my current Photon.
Hmmm then I can print my F1 at 1:48 or biggerI recently upgraded from a Photon to the MonoX and can attest you won't be sorry. Not only the larger build volume but MUCH faster and higher resolution as well. I think they've really honed in on the printer set-up and so far any print mistakes I've had are purely ME not doing something right, and that's even more forgiving. I've only had a few mishaps but otherwise incredible print success rates. Get it!

1/32 scale T-38. Kind of crazy that there never has been one in an injection molded kit, being the primary jet trainer for so long AND used by the Thunderbirds.

Not the best pics and it's just primer on them but here's where the parts stand now. I printed the spindle uprights along with the cooling shroud. And a period correct fire extinguisher. A quick test fit and think its a pretty decent improvement.

Thanks Janman. Yes the box art is....well it's something. "U.S. Sports Car". Love the generic workaround to avoid licensing. LOL
The kit itself is decent. It's kind of strange as if there were different teams working on different parts of the kit and they didn't communicate among themselves. Some areas are really nicely detailed and build up beautifully and some areas just barely have a shape that's close to something. And then what's missing completely is perplexing. From the images and build ups I've seen of the Meng kit, if you can afford it I think it seems to be a much better starting point. But the Trumpeter kit has the overall shapes and basics down so it's not bad for the price I guess.

Decals on doors and a mock up of the wheels in position. I've seen mixed photos where some make the rims appear to have a gold-ish tint to them and other simply seem to be a natural magnesium kind of color. For sure I'm going to be weathering this so it may not be as noticeable either way I go.
Such a cool looking car IMO. Just screams speed even sitting still.

IMO, I think it's possibly genius keeping/using the Squadron name. Yes, they went down in flames by poor customer service, BUT there are still many people out there that simply wasn't buying from them long before they tanked themselves. Those people still have found memories of the Squadron catalog and seeing it around once again might ignite and old flame. They wouldn't think twice about ordering from them again provided the marketing is good and the service starts out right. I'd be happy to support them if nothing than for nostalgia and keeping a US company going. Or possibly it's the stupidest idea ever and they won't last a season. I guess time will tell.

Small update on this. I wasn't happy with some of the kit suspension parts so I 3D cad'd up some as I go. I started with the brake disks, hubs and axle assembly. I'll get some paint on this soon and hopefully have a better pic.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I know several people that got it to various degrees of seriousness. It's certainly nothing to scoff at. I just think a more measure approach was warranted. Many places have simply done things only so they can say they've done something. Often causing more damage than not. But I suppose history will tell what was right and what was wrong.
BTW, on topic, my effects of the shot lasted approximately 30 hours of just aches and pains and sleeping a LOT. Took about 18 hours after 2nd shot before those symptoms set in, but otherwise not a big deal. Arm hurt for a few days.

I understand there was (is) no perfect answer. But in general I would have said that a baseline of which people SHOULD be the first to receive it would have been people that are more at risk of serious effects of the virus because of pre-existing conditions. It's coming out now that the average overall healthy adult that has contracted the virus has a much stronger immune system resistance now, that lasts much longer than those that received the shot. Natural immunity is always a better course of action IF that's an option.
And yes, I agree 100% with your last point. MANY people said they would never get the shot....until the administration that was most responsible for its rapid production was gone. And many people since the change of admin, now say they won't because of the same reason. But it's hard to blame them completely when the politics of science apparently has influenced the science community almost as much.

Yes, perhaps ALL of that is extremely far fetched fake news. But what isn't fake news is that the vaccine (which I've had both rounds BTW so I'm not against it completely) is a rush to market, non-FDA approved, emergency use only drug that had bypassed many safeguard tests in a way in which some would say is pretty unscientific. Whether or not you should get it is a personal decision and should remain that way. But MANY of the policies that were being implemented were practically useless and worse, potentially harmful. And I've heard it said by MANY MANY pediatricians that they feel the risks of giving the shot to anyone under 18-20, with no major pre-existing conditions that would render them at risk, is far more risky than waiting until a complete barrage of research is done on it's full effects. That age group has a better than 99.89% survival rate. But some don't question these things at all. Perhaps sheeple is a bit harsh of a term, but at the very least some people are extremely trusting in the unknowns.

I can pretty much just echo what MoFo said and maybe add one small point. You didn't say your budget so in general Mofo is right about just getting resin for model builders. BUT if cost isn't as big a deal I'd suggest MAYBE getting both an FDM and a resin. I say maybe because it totally depends on what you want to model and do with them. For me personally, I will use some FDM prints for items that surface finish isn't as important as strength, like inner supports, larger flat structure areas that can be easily sanded or parts that are going to be under some sort of covering. Case in point, I printed the decent stage of a 1/32 lunar module because it's completely covered in foil and it was cheaper and easier to print such a large part in PLA. Other than that, yes to everything MoFo said. keep in mind, the 2 technologies will require different sets of solutions to problems and different approaches to printing. But in my mind it's worth it.
