  1. Nice to see you've made a start. As for the pilot seatbelts, can I suggest you measure and cut them into two pieces. You can glue it into the existing hole and then there is plenty of room for the second piece to be glued inside between the cushion and seat side. It looks like it comes through but it doesn't.
  2. Agreed the lack of 1/48th European origin Helos is a real hole in the market. Surely there would be some interest in the NH-90/MRH-90 families and the Pumas.
  3. The updated Academy RAAF F-111C kit goes a long way to addressing the kits shortcomings and IMHO builds into a better looking pig. Depends on what you want from the kit.
  4. I'm in the optical illusion camp with all the curves going on there. FYI The doors fit perfectly closed (in fact you can use them as masks for the interior when painting). You can choose to see I problem there if you want, I don't and I won't be fixing it on my next builds.
  5. I can't see which pics you are referring to as they are in photosucket. But to address your points my main doors could have gone back another 1-2mm maybe? but I wanted to make sure I had adequate glueing area in the door slide tracks. Looks fine to me.
  6. Great work. One of my favourite display teams.
  7. Nailed the figures Oliver. In fact I think your style lends itself perfectly to doing great figures.
  8. Blimey Phantom that's quick work. Cool scheme.
  9. Super cool Norbert. I bet they would look great sitting on the tail ramp of a CH-46 as well?
  10. Thanks Devo. Yes all the aircraft fitted for Bushranger Mods started out as slicks as delivered and could also be re-configured back to a troop carrier by simply removing the weapons kits. I guess dependant upon airframe availability and tasking. Bushranger was an in theatre Aussie modification that was born out of the need for in-house air to ground fire support for our own operations. It became too hard to co-ordinate with the yanks, so the story goes they scrounged enough components from the US boneyards there to prove the concept. The kit does not i
  11. all good. Thanks to everyone for their comments. Much appreciated.
  12. Thats a fair point about the control tubes. The horns they connect to at the bottom seem to be the main culprit. Somebody said earlier they are mirror reversed to the real thing. I also think they could extend and wrap around the mast a bit further. No way to fix the kit parts without completely replacing. As far as the main mast that is mostly due to me tying the blade down to the tail. As built the main rotor actually teetered on the joint at the top of the mast. It just seemed too weak for me knowing the model will have a few outings so I firmed up the joints for strength.
  13. No problems to use the pics Floyd. Glad the decals lived up to expectations.
  14. Hello All Just finished the 1/48 Kittyhawk UH-1H as a Slick from 9 Squadron RAAF in SVN. I've added numerous bits n pieces to this build as well as the excellent Werners Wings Huey decals. It was done as a review build for The Modelling News so I can only share a few pics here. Follow the link below to the full 4 part WIP & build article. http://www.themodellingnews.com/2017/09/build-guide-pt-iv-andrew-finishes.html I hope you like this one. I can't wait to build another. Cheers Andrew P
  15. Man she sure is toting some iron. Well done on the build, you've inspired me to look at a SLUF again from the stash.
  16. Superb execution Rod. Everywhere I look there is more detail to see. Really really nice finish as well.
